How much does the 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 cost?

Prices have softened 10.93% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,832 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

It stands out as a compact car that feels more polished than many rivals, with a stylish design, refined cabin, and enjoyable driving dynamics. Mazda also positions it as a car that can suit buyers looking for basic, upscale, turbocharged, or non-turbo configurations, with sedan and hatchback body styles and front-wheel or all-wheel drive.

The main trade-offs are a cramped back seat, outdated technology, and poor rear visibility. Even so, the lineup’s quality and sophistication help it appeal if you want a small car that feels a little more special than the norm.

With 37.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 is presented as a refined, well-rounded compact car that still feels better than many rivals despite its age. Its standard engine is described as smooth, quiet, and refined across the rev range, and Mazda’s handling tech helps the car feel communicative, predictable, trustworthy, and tossable.

The expert evaluation also notes that the car’s powertrain is calibrated for pleasure and that the manual-transmission version is especially satisfying to drive. On the ownership side, the lineup’s value additions for 2025 help keep it competitive.

Long-term ownership risk for used buyers is mainly tied to the car’s aging tech and packaging compromises rather than basic durability concerns.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Mazda MAZDA3?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean title does not guarantee a trouble-free car. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the cabin electronics, rear visibility aids, and overall interior wear, since the model’s technology and visibility are known weak points. It also makes sense to compare trim equipment closely, because Mazda spread meaningful features across the lineup.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup ranges from base to Premium and from Carbon Edition to turbocharged versions, so you should compare equipment carefully; the base versions are the most stripped-down, while higher trims add more upscale features and a more polished feel.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder makes 191 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque, while turbo models raise output to 250 horsepower and 320 pound-feet on premium fuel, or 227 horsepower and 310 pound-feet on regular gas.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert; adaptive cruise control is present on the test car, but stop-and-go capability and lane centering assist are not.
• Infotainment: Depending on version, the screen measures 8.8 inches or 10.25 inches, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can be used by touch; only a few versions offer wireless connectivity.
• Fuel efficiency: The manual transmission is rated at 30 mpg in combined driving, and the test car returned 29.1 mpg on a mountainous evaluation loop.

Which 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 is offered in 7 trim levels: base, Select Sport, Preferred, Carbon Edition, Premium, Carbon Turbo, Premium Plus.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the entry point if you want the lowest-cost way into the lineup, but you should expect the fewest features and the least upscale presentation.
• Select Sport: This is the first step up and a smart place to start if you want a better-equipped daily driver without chasing the highest prices.
• Preferred: This trim should appeal if you want a more comfortable and polished feel without jumping all the way to the upper end of the range.
• Carbon Edition: Choose this if you want a more distinctive look and a richer-feeling setup without going fully premium.
• Premium: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more upscale experience and is the only version still available with a manual transmission.
• Carbon Turbo: Pick this if you want the turbocharged engine and stronger performance character.
• Premium Plus: This is the top-end choice if you want the most upscale version of the lineup and the turbocharged powertrain.

Safety content highlights a strong standard driver-assistance suite, but the manual-transmission test car did not include stop-and-go adaptive cruise control, and lane centering assist is unavailable.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Mazda MAZDA3?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,832 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.93% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,745, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Mazda MAZDA3's resale value?

The current average of $22,759 sits slightly below last year's $25,552.

That softer pricing suggests the model has become more accessible for used buyers, which can help support demand if you buy at the right number. For future sellers, the current market shows that pricing discipline matters, because values have already moved down meaningfully from a year ago.

The car’s strong styling, refinement, and safety reputation should help it remain appealing to shoppers who want a compact car with a more premium feel. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 safe?

The 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS and five-star ratings in all NHTSA crash tests, including rollover resistance.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. The test car also had adaptive cruise control, though the manual transmission meant it did not include stop-and-go capability, and lane centering assist is unavailable.

One caveat is that the lane departure warning system can issue inaccurate alerts in narrowing lanes, and adaptive cruise control can be overly cautious in sharper curves.

Should I buy a 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.93% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Mazda adds a new base version of the 2.5 S and more standard tech for 2025.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $21,391, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $22,759 average.
• It delivers a more upscale feel to the compact-car class.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It brings an entry-level luxury cabin and spirited driving experience.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better pick if you want the freshest used-market mix of value, safety, and updated equipment. If you’re price-sensitive, the 2024 is the smarter path because it undercuts the current-year average while keeping the Mazda 3’s core appeal intact.
