Yes — the 2025 Mazda CX-50 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 8/10.

The performance notes point to a powertrain that should satisfy most shoppers, with quick throttle response and smooth highway manners. The cost-effectiveness notes also emphasize that the hybrid’s fuel savings can help offset its higher purchase price over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Mazda CX-50?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re comparing multiple examples. Focus on interior condition, rear-seat usability, and cargo-area wear, since those are the areas where this model’s compromises are most likely to matter in daily use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin uses a traditional layout with classier materials than many rivals, and the hybrid model adds red leather upholstery. Base trims come with a basic eight-speaker audio system, so you may want to step up if you care about a richer cabin experience.
• Powertrain: The hybrid pairs a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with three electric motors, making 219 horsepower and 163 lb-ft of torque with AWD. It sits between the base engine and the Turbo models, and it’s tuned for smooth, confident everyday driving rather than serious off-road use.
• Safety package: Standard driver assistance includes frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic warning, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control. It also adds a rear passenger reminder, driver attention monitor, and safe exit alerts.
• Infotainment: The infotainment screen measures 10.25 inches, and all models come with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Touchscreen functionality is limited to Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, and a wireless charging pad requires at least the Premium trim.
• Fuel efficiency: The hybrid is estimated at 38 mpg combined, compared with 28 mpg for the standard engine. That efficiency advantage is a major part of the hybrid’s appeal if you drive a lot.

Which 2025 Mazda CX-50 trim should I buy?

Should I buy a 2025 Mazda CX-50 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 42.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.19% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The hybrid powertrain adds fuel efficiency to an already sporty SUV.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $27,642, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $28,617 average.
• It emphasizes ruggedness and standard all-wheel drive.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds gas, turbocharged gas, or hybrid powertrains with standard AWD.
• It sees only minor changes for the model year.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better pick if you want the CX-50’s strongest mix of style, efficiency, and driving enjoyment. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2024 is worth a look for a lower entry cost, while the 2026 makes sense if you want the latest version of the same formula.
