How much does the 2025 MINI Cooper cost?

Prices have softened 5.55% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,327 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 MINI Cooper a good car?

Yes — the 2025 MINI Cooper earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Form and function.

It is redesigned for 2025 with changes throughout, and it is a little bigger inside and out while still weighing less than 3,000 pounds. That lighter footprint helps preserve the lively, fun-to-drive character the MINI badge is known for, and the new model also brings quirky interior design and all-new infotainment tech to the cabin.

For you, the appeal is a stylish hatchback that feels playful without giving up everyday usefulness. The tradeoffs are worth noting, though: the infotainment is called terrible, there is no ability to independently shift gears without paying extra, and the base price is high.

There are 39.6% good or great deals in the market, which suggests you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 MINI Cooper reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 MINI Cooper is described as a redesigned model that still keeps the small-car charm and lively character the nameplate is known for. Its turbocharged four-cylinder setup and light curb weight support a spirited driving experience, and the cabin’s new tech and materials help it feel more modern than before.

The performance side is generally encouraging, with the dual-clutch gearbox described as smooth in operation and the car’s power delivery as linear and enthusiastic. On the ownership side, the model’s standard equipment and available maintenance-friendly features help, but the recall for the integrated braking system means you should verify that any used example has had the fix completed before you buy.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 MINI Cooper?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a car with optional equipment or a higher-mileage example. Focus on how the cabin electronics, driver-assistance features, and transmission behavior feel in real use, since those are the areas most likely to shape your day-to-day ownership experience.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin design is distinctive, with a round 9.4-inch touchscreen, a panoramic sunroof on four-door models, and standard heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. Base-trim shoppers should pay close attention to which comfort and convenience features are included versus optional.
• Powertrain: The car uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. The base model makes 161 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, while the Cooper S makes 201 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque.
• Safety package: Safe Exit, pedestrian detection, and forward-collision warning are standard. Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality and lane-keep assist are available as part of the Active Driving Assistant package for an additional $600.
• Infotainment: The latest Operating System 9 runs on a 9.4-inch touchscreen. Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and dual-zone climate control are standard, and there are several USB-C outlets throughout the cabin.
• Fuel efficiency: The car is EPA-rated at 28 mpg city, 39 mpg highway, and 32 mpg combined.

Which 2025 MINI Cooper trim should I buy?

The 2025 MINI Cooper is offered in 6 trim levels: Signature three-door, Cooper S three-door, Cooper four-door, Cooper S four-door, Cooper convertible, Cooper S convertible.

Here's the short version:

• Signature three-door: This is the entry point, and it makes the most sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the redesigned Cooper. It gives you the core MINI personality, but you should be sure the standard equipment is enough for your needs before you commit.
• Cooper S three-door: This is the best-value trim if you care most about the MINI’s fun-to-drive character. It adds the stronger engine and is the version most clearly tied to the car’s lively performance and sporty dynamics.
• Cooper four-door: Choose this if you want easier everyday usability and more flexibility for passengers, while still staying close to the core MINI formula.
• Cooper S four-door: This is the pick if you want the stronger engine plus the added practicality of the four-door body style.
• Cooper convertible: This is for you if open-air driving matters more than outright value or maximum practicality.
• Cooper S convertible: This is the most performance-oriented convertible choice, but it also sits at the top of the price ladder.

The safety package is available as the Active Driving Assistant package, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality and lane-keep assist are not standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 MINI Cooper?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 39.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,327 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.55% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 95.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,613, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 MINI Cooper's resale value?

The current average of $30,617 sits slightly below last year's $32,417.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, the current trend means you may not see the same near-term appreciation that a tighter market would support.

Even so, the MINI’s distinctive styling and strong enthusiast appeal can help keep demand steady. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 MINI Cooper safe?

The 2025 Mini Cooper has not been tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Safe Exit is standard, along with pedestrian detection and forward-collision warning. Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality and lane-keep assist are available as part of the Active Driving Assistant package for an additional $600.

One important caveat is the recall for the integrated braking system, so you should confirm that any used example has had the remedy completed before you buy.

Should I buy a 2025 MINI Cooper or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 39.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.55% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 model is redesigned with a little more space, all-new infotainment tech, and the same lively character that defines the MINI name.

The bottom line: If you want the newest redesign, the 2025 is the right path because it brings updated styling, a more modern cabin, and strong market availability. If you are mainly focused on minimizing purchase price, a nearby model year may still be worth a look, but you will be giving up some of the 2025’s fresh design and tech.

2025 MINI Cooper:

• Pros: Vivacious power output in S model, Sporty dynamics, Spacious interior for its size.
• Cons: Terrible infotainment, No ability to independently shift gears without ponying up, High base price.

2025 BMW 2 Series:

• Pros: Fun to drive, Standard all-wheel drive, Plenty of cargo space.
• Cons: Uninspired styling, Unintuitive technology, Firm ride quality.

Our experts score the 2025 MINI Cooper 7/10 and the 2025 BMW 2 Series 6.3/10. The MINI leans harder into personality, sporty dynamics, and a surprisingly roomy cabin for its size, while the BMW counters with standard all-wheel drive and more cargo space. If you care most about style and playful driving feel, the MINI is the more distinctive choice; if you want standard AWD and a more conventional utility angle, the BMW may fit better.
