Is the 2025 Lexus IS a good car?

The 2025 Lexus IS is a compact luxury sports sedan that leans into driving enjoyment, compact proportions, and a comparatively low price point for the class. It also fits buyers who want easy-to-use technology and standard advanced safety features, while accepting that it is not the most practical choice for passengers or cargo.

The overview points to a car that is fun to drive and well suited to younger buyers who want a sporty feel in a luxury package. It also highlights standard Lexus Safety System+ features, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a touchscreen display, which make the cabin easier to live with day to day.

With 35.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful share of the market to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Lexus IS reliable?

The 2025 Lexus IS is presented as a compact luxury sports sedan with a strong emphasis on driving enjoyment, modern tech, and standard safety equipment. Its appeal comes from that balanced formula rather than from any single standout feature.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a sporty luxury sedan can be less forgiving if prior maintenance was inconsistent, so condition and service history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Lexus IS?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then inspect the car closely for signs of prior damage, uneven wear, or neglected maintenance. Focus on overall condition, because a sporty luxury sedan is best bought when it has been cared for consistently.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Lexus IS?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,008 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.41% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $45,315, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Lexus IS's resale value?

The current average of $45,315 sits slightly below last year's $46,432.

That suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on mileage, condition, and how well the car has been maintained. If you keep the car clean and well documented, you should be in a better position when it is time to sell.

Should I buy a 2025 Lexus IS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.41% compared with last year.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds refreshed digital tech and updated steering and suspension.

The bottom line: The 2025 makes sense if you want the lower-priced, sporty, tech-friendly version of the IS and you find a clean example at a strong price. If you are more focused on newer technology and a more modern feel, the 2026 is the better path; if you are price-sensitive, the 2025 is the smarter buy when you can find one near the low end of the range.
