Is the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport a good car?

The 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport earns an expert rating of 7.00/10.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

It blends traditional Land Rover luxury with sportier on-road driving dynamics, and it stands out for its stylish design and strong handling. The trade-offs are clear: it is a poor value for money, and its technology can be unintuitive. For you, that means this SUV makes the most sense if you care more about presence and driving character than maximizing features per dollar.

Good and great deals account for 34.6% of listings, which suggests there are still some worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport reliable?

The 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is presented as a refined, capable luxury SUV with multiple powertrain options and standard four-wheel drive, but its ownership case is shaped by the brand’s premium positioning and the model’s complexity.

Its performance setup includes an eight-speed automatic transmission, standard 4WD, and a base turbocharged inline-six, while higher-output engines and plug-in hybrid versions broaden the lineup. Land Rover also includes a four-year/50,000-mile new-vehicle warranty and complimentary roadside assistance over the same period, which helps support the ownership experience.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a sophisticated luxury SUV with multiple systems can become expensive to own once it is out of warranty.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report, verify service records, and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on higher-spec examples with more equipment. Focus on overall condition, electronics behavior, and signs of heavy use, since luxury SUVs like this can hide expensive issues behind a polished presentation.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes SE, Dynamic SE, Autobiography, and SV Edition Two. The SE starts with a minimalist cabin, 21-inch wheels, and the core Range Rover Sport look, while the Dynamic SE can add a Stealth appearance package with black exterior trim and black 23-inch wheels. Autobiography brings a more upscale setup, and the SV Edition Two adds the most dramatic performance-focused hardware and interior treatment.
• Powertrain: The base model uses a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six with 355 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. Higher trims can add a higher-output inline-six, plug-in hybrid powertrains, or a BMW-sourced twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8, with the SV Edition Two tuned to 626 horsepower.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, traffic sign recognition, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a driver attention monitor. A 360-degree camera system is also standard, and the base SE already gets the full core suite.
• Infotainment: You get a 13.7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13.1-inch touchscreen, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and Amazon Alexa integration. The system looks clean, but many functions are handled through the touchscreen, so usability matters on a test drive.
• Fuel efficiency: The base six-cylinder is rated at 22 mpg combined, 20 mpg city, and 25 mpg highway. The V8 drops to 19 mpg combined, 16 mpg city, and 23 mpg highway, while plug-in hybrids offer 53 miles of electric range and 21 mpg combined after that.

Which 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport trim should I buy?

The 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, Dynamic SE, Autobiography, and SV Edition Two.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the core Range Rover Sport experience, including the standard driver-assistance suite, the dual-screen cabin, and the base turbocharged inline-six. It makes the most sense if you want the styling and badge without stretching into the pricier trims.
• Dynamic SE: This is the trim to watch if you want a better balance of equipment and price. It adds a higher-output engine option and can be fitted with the Stealth appearance package, so it gives you more visual presence and more performance flexibility without jumping all the way to the top end.
• Autobiography: This is the better choice if you want the richer powertrain mix, including the plug-in hybrid and available V8, plus the added off-road hardware that includes a two-speed transfer case with low range. It suits you if you want the most rounded luxury-and-capability package.
• SV Edition Two: This is the performance flagship, with the most powerful engine, the most aggressive hardware, and the most distinctive interior and exterior details. It is the right pick if you want the most extreme Range Rover Sport and are willing to pay for it.

The standard safety package is already comprehensive from the SE trim upward, so you do not need to move up just to get the core driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you should shop with a clear target and be ready to move when the right listing appears.

• Deal availability: 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,208 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.19% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 94.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $82,201, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport's resale value?

The current average of $82,353 sits slightly below last year's $92,733.

That price movement suggests the model has softened enough to help you buy more selectively today. If you plan to sell later, you should expect resale value to depend heavily on trim, mileage, and condition, since higher-priced luxury SUVs can lose ground quickly when newer alternatives arrive. For you, the safest resale path is to buy a well-kept example at a competitive price and avoid overpaying for options that may not return much later.

Is the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport safe?

The 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport does not yet have published IIHS or NHTSA crash ratings in the provided data.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard driver-assistance suite includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, traffic sign recognition, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a driver attention monitor. A standard 360-degree camera system also helps with parking and visibility, especially given the tall hood.

One caveat is that the parking sensors can be overly sensitive, so you may want to test the camera and parking setup yourself before buying.

Should I buy a 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.19% compared with last year.
• It keeps the same stylish, sporty, and minimally changed formula described in the expert summary.

Consider the 2026 if:

• The SV Carbon pushes performance and exclusivity even further.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2025 if you want the current-generation Range Rover Sport at a softer price and with plenty of inventory to compare. If you are chasing the newest, most extreme version of the formula, the 2026 is the path to consider, but price-sensitive buyers are likely better served by the 2025.
