Is the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport a good car?

The 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport earns an 7.00/10 expert rating, and its appeal comes through most clearly in its style, driving character, and upscale positioning.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

It blends traditional Land Rover luxury with sportier on-road dynamics, and it is aimed at buyers who want a more stylish alternative to the Defender and Discovery. The trade-offs are clear: it is a poor value for money and its technology can be unintuitive.

With 39.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport reliable?

The 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is presented as a refined, well-equipped luxury SUV with standard four-wheel drive and a broad powertrain lineup, but its long-term ownership case still depends heavily on how you use it and how much complexity you’re willing to accept.

Its performance hardware is substantial, and the standard warranty coverage includes a four-year/50,000-mile new-vehicle warranty plus complimentary roadside assistance over the same period. Land Rover also says the base six-cylinder returns 22 mpg combined, which helps keep operating costs more manageable than the higher-output versions.

The Range Rover Sport’s broad capability and premium equipment should make it satisfying if you value versatility, but used buyers should still plan for higher ownership risk than a simpler luxury SUV.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report, verify service records, and prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on higher-spec or more complex versions. Pay close attention to how the electronics, cameras, and driver-assistance features operate, since this SUV leans heavily on technology. Condition matters most on the interior and exterior finish, because the Range Rover Sport’s appeal is tied closely to its premium presentation.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes SE, Dynamic SE, Autobiography, and SV Edition Two. The SE is the entry point, while the Dynamic SE adds more output and can be paired with a Stealth appearance package. Autobiography brings the most upscale mainstream mix, and the SV Edition Two is the highest-performance model with unique visual and mechanical upgrades.
• Powertrain: The SE uses a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six with 355 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. The Dynamic SE can use that engine at 395 hp and 406 lb-ft, or a plug-in hybrid rated at 454 hp and 487 lb-ft. Autobiography models can use the plug-in hybrid at 543 hp and 590 lb-ft, or a BMW-sourced twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 with 523 hp and 553 lb-ft. The SV Edition Two uses the same V8 at 626 hp.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, traffic sign recognition, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a driver attention monitor. A 360-degree camera system is also standard, and the base SE gets the same core driver-assist coverage as the rest of the lineup.
• Infotainment: You get a 13.7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13.1-inch touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with Amazon Alexa integration. The system is responsive, but many functions still rely on the touchscreen.
• Fuel efficiency: The base six-cylinder is rated at 22 mpg combined (20 mpg city, 25 mpg highway). The V8 returns 19 mpg combined (16 mpg city, 23 mpg highway), while plug-in hybrids offer 53 miles of electric range and 21 mpg combined after that.

Which 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport trim should I buy?

The 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, Dynamic SE, Autobiography, and SV Edition Two.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the core Range Rover Sport experience with the standard turbocharged inline-six, standard four-wheel drive, and the full driver-assistance suite. It makes sense if you want the least expensive way into the model without giving up the essentials.
• Dynamic SE: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds a stronger engine option and can be paired with the Stealth appearance package. If you want a more distinctive look and more power without jumping to the highest-priced trims, this is the one to focus on.
• Autobiography: This trim is the better pick if you want the most complete luxury-and-performance balance. It opens the door to the stronger plug-in hybrid and the available V8, plus it adds more upscale positioning than the lower trims.
• SV Edition Two: This is the halo model, with the most power, the most dramatic hardware, and the most exclusive presentation. It suits you if performance and bragging rights matter more than value.

The standard safety package is generous across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and pricing softness to make comparison shopping worthwhile.

• Deal availability: 39.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,201 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.11% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 94.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $82,886, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport's resale value?

The current average of $82,886 sits slightly below last year's $94,307.

That price drop suggests the used market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently today. If you plan to resell later, the model’s premium positioning may still help it hold appeal, but its value story will likely depend on trim, mileage, and condition more than on broad market momentum. Higher-spec versions may be harder to move unless they are priced carefully.

Is the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport safe?

The 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport had not yet been rated by IIHS or NHTSA at the time of publication.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard driver-assistance suite includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, traffic sign recognition, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a driver attention monitor. A standard 360-degree camera system also helps with parking and visibility, especially given the tall hood.

One caveat is that the parking sensors can be overly sensitive, and the touchscreen-heavy layout can make some functions less convenient than they should be.

Should I buy a 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 39.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.11% compared with last year.
• It keeps the same basic formula as the 2023-introduced generation, with minimal changes and strong handling.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It pushes farther into prestige and customization, with an even more extreme flagship model.

The bottom line: If you want the safer value play, the 2025 is the better target because pricing has eased and inventory is healthy. If you’re chasing the newest expression of the formula and are comfortable paying more, the 2026 is the path to consider.
