Used 2025 Land Rover Defender for Sale nearMesa, AZ

How much does the 2025 Land Rover Defender cost?

Prices have softened 7.14% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,644 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for a shopper comparing trims and body styles.

Is the 2025 Land Rover Defender a good car?

The 2025 Land Rover Defender earns an expert rating of 7.5/10.

The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

It stands out because it blends serious off-road ability with a more refined, comfortable personality than many rugged SUVs, and it gives you multiple body styles plus a wide range of powertrains. That makes it especially appealing if you want one vehicle that can handle everyday driving and still be ready for rough terrain.

The trade-offs are clear: poor fuel economy and poor on-pavement handling are part of the package, along with poor rear visibility. Even so, the Defender’s flexibility and capability make it a strong fit if you value versatility over polish.

With 36.9% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Land Rover Defender reliable?

The 2025 Land Rover Defender is positioned as a capable, well-equipped SUV, but it also comes with the kind of ownership considerations you’d expect from a premium off-road model. The expert assessment emphasizes its rugged capability, refined manners, and broad powertrain range, while also noting that it comes at a cost both on the window sticker and at the pump.

Its performance character is strong: the turbocharged six-cylinder delivers robust, smooth acceleration, and the Defender’s off-road hardware is substantial enough to handle demanding terrain with confidence. On the cost side, the four-year/50,000-mile warranty and roadside assistance plan help reduce early ownership anxiety.

For used buyers, the long-term risk is that maintenance and operating costs can add up quickly, so condition and service history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Land Rover Defender?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has seen trail use or towing duty. Focus on tire wear, suspension condition, brake feel, and signs of cosmetic or underbody damage. If the listing includes off-road equipment, make sure it all works as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 110 four-door is the sweet spot in the lineup, while the 90 can feel stubby and the 130 carries more visual mass. Base pricing starts lower on the 90, while the 130 V8 sits at the top of the range, and the X trim adds upgraded interior materials plus Land Rover’s off-roading technology as standard equipment.
• Powertrain: You can choose from turbocharged four-cylinder and six-cylinder engines, plus turbocharged or supercharged V8 options. The turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder pairs with a mild-hybrid system, makes 395 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque, and is described as the point where power, refinement, and efficiency meet.
• Safety package: Standard driver aids include automatic high-beam headlights, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality. Lane-centering assist is available when using adaptive cruise control.
• Infotainment: Pivi Pro uses an 11.4-inch touchscreen and a configurable digital driver display. It includes wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, SiriusXM 360L satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hotspot, connected services, and available features such as a head-up display, ClearSight digital rearview mirror, and surround-view camera system with a 3D view setting.
• Fuel efficiency: The test vehicle’s window sticker called for 19 mpg in combined driving, and observed fuel economy was 16.2 mpg.

Which 2025 Land Rover Defender trim should I buy?

The 2025 Land Rover Defender is offered in 3 trim levels: 90, 110, and 130.

Here's the short version:

• 90: This is the shortest, two-door version, so it’s the most compact and the most distinctive-looking. It suits you if you want the classic Defender shape and don’t need the extra space of the four-door models.
• 110: This is the sweet spot in the lineup. It balances the Defender’s rugged character with the most natural proportions, and it’s the best-value choice for most shoppers.
• 130: This is the extended four-door model, giving you the most space and the most visual mass. It makes sense if passenger and cargo room matter most.

The safety package includes the same core driver aids across the lineup, with lane-centering assist available when using adaptive cruise control.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Land Rover Defender?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,644 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.14% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 95.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $69,363, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Land Rover Defender's resale value?

The current average of $69,363 sits slightly below last year's $74,696.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more confidently today. For a future seller, it also means you should expect depreciation pressure to remain part of the ownership equation.

Because the Defender is a premium SUV with a broad trim and powertrain spread, resale will likely depend heavily on configuration, mileage, and condition. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment should hold up better than heavily used trucks with visible wear.

Is the 2025 Land Rover Defender safe?

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Land Rover equips the Defender with several driver aids, and they work in a refined manner with few reasons to complain about them. Highlights include automatic high-beam headlights, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality.

A button on the steering wheel calls up a Driver Assistance Mode menu, letting you choose High, Low, or Custom assistance settings. Lane-centering assist is available when using adaptive cruise control, and the system generally operates in a transparent manner.

Should I buy a 2025 Land Rover Defender or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.14% compared with last year.
• The 2025 adds the high-performance Defender OCTA and keeps the lineup unusually flexible.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $57,984, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $69,363 average.
• It broadens the lineup with new trims and features, including expanded V8 availability.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds subtle styling updates, a larger touchscreen, and new color and accessory options.

The bottom line: If you want the most current mix of trims, tech, and market leverage, the 2025 is the primary pick. If your priority is lower purchase price, the 2024 is the smarter value play, while the 2026 makes sense if you want the freshest updates and can pay more.
