Summary
With 140 currently listed for sale near Montgomery, AL and an average price of $30,987.00, 40.0% of 2025 Kia K5s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.

Why it stands out
The refreshed 2025 Kia K5 stands out as a stylish midsize sedan that brings updated exterior lighting, revised front and rear styling, and redesigned wheels. Kia also gave it new technology, redesigned dashboard controls, and more standard features, while keeping the car positioned as a good value. For shoppers who want a family sedan with a more distinctive look than the average commuter car, that combination is a major part of its appeal.
The 2025 K5’s strengths are easy to see in its ride quality, technology, and overall comfort. It remains a comfortable choice, and the new tech is a highlight. At the same time, Kia’s changes come with tradeoffs: the only turbocharged version is now the GT sports sedan, other K5 models use a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with less real-world driving punch than the previously-standard turbo four, and the car still does not offer a hybrid powertrain. Touch-sensing climate controls and the fact that it is not much fun to drive in all but GT form are also drawbacks for buyers to consider.

Reviewed a 2025 Kia GT-Line FWD on Apr 26, 2025
I only had the car 2 month but drove it to Florida (all around) and back and put on 3,500 miles. My car is a GT-Line, Wolf Grey with the Red interior, Bose speakers etc. The car is a real pleasure to drive. Very Quiet on the road, and my mileage exceeded the 36 mpg epa rating, and that’s while maintaining speeds of 80 mph with 2 people and fully loaded with luggage. (about 38 mpg) Little if any wind noise. Note that at times I hit much higher speeds not knowing since it was so quiet & smooth. The engine RPM was mostly between 2 to 2.1 at 80mph. The power of the 2.5 liter is good, and slightly better than the 2019 Camry I had, which was a very good car as well. The Bose 12 speaker system sounded great, and all the alert sensors and some other sensors like keeping your car steering between the lines worked very well, but I preferred to turn that off most of the time. If you turn on your turning signals to changing lanes, and a car is present, not only does your side mirrors alert you, but you’ll get sound notices and the steering wheel will vibrate. Triple redundancy. The handling is very good, and secure, brakes are excellent and has a very good feel to them. A very important note is, I appreciate that the 2.5 engine has both Direct & Port Injectors on each cylinder. Port injectors will help cleaned the valves and clear any carbon build up. This is the same arrangement my Camry 2019 had which greatly reduces or eliminates carbon buildup in these Direct Inject Engines. The Nav system worked flawlessly and quickly. I also love you can remotely start your car with the key FOB (No additional charge) or with Kia Connect though Kia connect is only free the 1st 3 years. Also, happily, it doesn’t have the stop & start engine control which can cause more wear on your starter motor with little gain on MPG. The seats are very comfortable as I can attest driving 12 hours straight on my first stop. The car’s 8 spd auto shifted smoothly in all conditions. Plenty of room inside. Lot of storage in the console area for incidentals and drinks. I enjoyed the Panoramic roof. The negative was the Combine toggle Climate & Media control is a bit counter intuitive and sometimes causes more effort to control. Trunk space is good, as I had lots of luggage. The car feels solid & hopefully reliable down the line. The only other negative which is because I do my own oil changes etc, is this car takes a Cartridge oil filter (Not spin on) and takes 6.1 quarts of oil, (Not 5 qts) but I knew this well before I bought it but it’s location and design is good. So it’s not a real big deal, but this will cost a little more for oil changes. Recommended oil chg is 7,500 but I’ll be doing it every 5 to 6K for sure. BTW recommended oil is 0 -30W. Based on my limited time but very heavy usage I highly recommend this car, and I really enjoy driving it. Very sporty looking and lots of featrues.

Is the 2025 Kia K5 a good car?
Yes — the 2025 Kia K5 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.
The K5’s refreshed styling, updated lighting, redesigned dashboard controls, and added standard features make it a strong fit if you want a family sedan that looks and feels more distinctive than a typical commuter car. It also stands out for ride quality and comfort, and the tech package is a clear highlight.
The trade-offs are real: the standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder is less punchy than the previous turbo four, and the car still does not offer a hybrid powertrain. The K5 GT addresses some of the driving downside, but most versions are tuned more for comfort and value than enthusiasm.
With 31.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2025 Kia K5 reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The 2025 K5 is positioned as a comfortable, well-equipped family sedan, and its updated tech and standard features support that everyday-use appeal. Kia’s performance tuning also emphasizes smoothness and quiet operation in normal driving, which is a good sign for routine ownership.
The K5’s dependability story is strongest when you focus on its mainstream use case: commuting, family duty, and easy daily driving. The main long-term ownership risk for used buyers is that the car’s more complex tech and touch-based controls may be more frustrating than durable if they age poorly.
What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Kia K5?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still run a history report on any car you’re considering, even if the listing looks clean. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re shopping for a higher-trim car with more equipment. Pay close attention to interior condition, control usability, and whether the features you care about work as intended.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base version gets the essentials, but the more upscale trims add meaningful equipment. The EX stands out for having everything Kia offers for the 2025 K5, while the GT-Line adds more equipment than the entry trim.
- Powertrain: Most versions use a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 191 horsepower and 182 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic. The GT uses a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 290 hp and 311 lb-ft, and AWD is optional with GT-Line.
- Safety package: Kia’s driver-assistance suite includes intersection turn assistance, active blind-spot collision avoidance, and a leading vehicle departure alert. GT-Line adds Highway Driving Assist, and EX adds a surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, side parking sensors, and automatic reverse braking.
- Infotainment: Every K5 gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen with multi-device Bluetooth pairing, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Kia Connect services. Navigation and wireless charging start with GT-Line, and the EX adds a 12.3-inch digital instrumentation panel.
- Fuel efficiency: The official EPA estimate is 29 mpg in combined driving, while the test car averaged 24.9 mpg on a mountainous test loop.
Which 2025 Kia K5 trim should I buy?
The 2025 Kia K5 is offered in 4 trim levels: LXS, GT-Line, EX, GT.
Here's the short version:
- Base trim: The LXS gives you the core K5 experience, but it misses some of the richer tech and convenience features found higher up the range.
- Sweet-spot trim: The GT-Line is the best balance for many shoppers because it adds navigation, wireless charging, and AWD availability while keeping the K5’s value focus intact.
- Premium/top trim: The EX is the most fully equipped choice, with the surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, side parking sensors, and reverse automatic braking.
- Off-road trim: The GT is the performance choice, but it is less relevant if you want the most comfortable everyday sedan.
The GT-Line also adds Highway Driving Assist, which is a useful safety-package upgrade over the base setup.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Kia K5?
This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.
- Deal availability: 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 2,226 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 2.17% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 89.4% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $23,990.22, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Kia K5's resale value?
The current average of $27,736 sits slightly below last year's $28,352.
That price movement suggests the K5 has softened a bit, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend more on condition, trim, and equipment than on broad market momentum alone.
Because the K5 still draws strong shopper interest as a stylish, well-equipped midsize sedan, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than neglected ones. Higher-trim cars with desirable features may also hold attention better than stripped versions.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2025 Kia K5 safe?
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the K5 earns a five-star overall safety rating.
It earns a 8/10 safety score from our experts.
Kia equips every K5 with a long list of driver-assist features, including intersection turn assistance, active blind-spot collision avoidance, and a leading vehicle departure alert. GT-Line adds Highway Driving Assist, which provides hands-on semi-autonomous acceleration, braking, and steering, and EX adds a surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, side parking sensors, and automatic braking when reversing.
One caveat is that the lane-keeping and lane-centering systems can be aggravating when Highway Driving Assist is not active. The controls for turning them off are also buried in the infotainment menus, which can make the system harder to live with than it should be.
Should I buy a 2025 Kia K5 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 2.17% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The refreshed styling, updated tech, and redesigned controls make this year especially appealing.
Consider the 2024 if:
- At $25,324, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $27,736 average.
- It offers standard turbocharging and AWD availability.
The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of the K5 with updated styling and stronger tech appeal, the 2025 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2024 is the more budget-friendly route and still delivers the K5’s core style-and-value formula.
