How much does the 2025 Kia K5 cost?

Prices have softened 1.82% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,404 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and trims.

Is the 2025 Kia K5 a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Kia K5 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

The refreshed K5 brings updated exterior lighting, revised front and rear styling, redesigned wheels, new technology, redesigned dashboard controls, and more standard features. That lines up well with its appeal as a stylish midsize sedan for you if you want a family car that feels more distinctive than many rivals.

The trade-offs are that the only turbocharged version is now the GT sports sedan, and the other trims use a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with less real-world punch than the previous turbo engine. It also loses some driving enjoyment with this year’s engine swap.

Good and great deals: 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Kia K5 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The K5 is presented as a comfortable, well-equipped family sedan with strong value and a modern feature set, which supports confidence for everyday use. Its expert assessment also points to a solid overall package rather than a vehicle that feels compromised in daily driving.

The performance notes describe the 2.5-liter four-cylinder as adequate and reasonably quiet, with the transmission calibrated to make the most of the available power. The ride is also described as quiet, soft, smooth, and composed over rough pavement.

If you buy used, the main long-term ownership risk is that the base powertrain may feel underwhelming if you expect strong acceleration or a more engaging drive.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Kia K5?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re comparing multiple trims or higher-mileage examples. Focus on overall condition, feature operation, and whether the car’s equipment matches the trim level you’re considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LXS, sporty-looking GT-Line, upscale EX, and GT each bring different equipment levels, and the base trim misses some of the richer features found higher up the range.
• Powertrain: Most trims use a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with an eight-speed automatic, while the GT gets a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 290 hp and 311 lb-ft.
• Safety package: Every K5 gets a long list of driver-assist features, while GT-Line adds Highway Driving Assist and EX adds a surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, side parking sensors, and automatic reverse braking.
• Infotainment: Every 2025 K5 has a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth pairing, SiriusXM, and Kia Connect; navigation and wireless charging start with GT-Line, and EX adds a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel.
• Fuel efficiency: The official EPA fuel economy estimate is 29 mpg in combined driving, and our test car averaged 24.9 mpg on a mountainous test loop.

Which 2025 Kia K5 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Kia K5 is offered in 4 trim levels: LXS, GT-Line, EX, GT.

Here's the short version:

• LXS: This is the entry point if you want the K5’s style, standard touchscreen tech, and broad safety equipment at the lowest price.
• GT-Line: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds navigation, wireless charging, AWD availability, and Highway Driving Assist.
• EX: This is the comfort-and-tech pick, with the 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, side parking sensors, and reverse automatic braking.
• GT: This is the performance choice, with the turbocharged 2.5-liter engine, sport-tuned suspension, faster steering ratio, and larger brakes.

The GT-Line is the best-value trim if you want the strongest mix of features and flexibility without jumping to the pricier EX or the performance-focused GT.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Kia K5?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,404 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.82% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,981, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Kia K5's resale value?

The current average of $27,486 sits slightly below last year's $27,995.

That price movement suggests the K5 has softened a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper short-term resale gains if you plan to sell soon. For a future seller, the current trend points to a market that is still active but not especially strong on appreciation.

The K5’s appeal as a stylish, well-equipped midsize sedan should help it stay relevant with shoppers who want value and features. Strong demand for well-kept examples can support resale, especially for trims with desirable equipment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Kia K5 safe?

The 2025 Kia K5 earns a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia equips every K5 with a long list of driver-assist features, including intersection turn assistance, active blind-spot collision avoidance, and a leading vehicle departure alert. GT-Line adds Highway Driving Assist with hands-on semi-autonomous acceleration, braking, and steering, and its standard navigation system enables curve speed reduction for adaptive cruise control.

EX trim, or the GT1 Package on the K5 GT, adds an outstanding surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, side parking sensors, and automatic braking when reversing during parking.

One caveat is that the lane-keeping and lane-centering systems can be frustrating to use without Highway Driving Assist, and turning them off is harder than it should be.

Should I buy a 2025 Kia K5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.82% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The refresh brings updated styling, new technology, redesigned dashboard controls, and more standard features.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $24,886, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $27,486 average.
• It offers turbocharging standard and strong value.

The bottom line: If you want the newer design, upgraded tech, and broader standard equipment, the 2025 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2024 is the smarter value play, especially if you can live with its older setup.
