How much does the 2025 Kia K5 cost?

Prices have softened 2.43% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,357 listings available, which suggests you have a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Kia K5 a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Kia K5 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

The K5 is positioned as a stylish midsize sedan that leans on value, a comfortable ride, and a more distinctive design than a typical commuter car. It also brings new technology, redesigned dashboard controls, and more standard features, which makes it especially appealing if you want a family sedan that feels modern inside.

The trade-offs are clear: the standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder is less lively than the turbo engine it replaced, and the car is not especially fun to drive in most versions. The GT is the exception, but most shoppers will be choosing between comfort, style, and equipment rather than outright driving excitement.

Good and great deals account for 33.2% of listings, which is a healthy sign that you can still shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Kia K5 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The K5’s appeal comes from its strong value proposition, comfortable ride, and broad equipment list. It also pairs that with a refreshed design and updated cabin tech, which can make it feel newer than many rivals at a similar price point. The expert assessment also points to a well-rounded sedan that remains practical for family use.

On the dependability side, the 2.5-liter four-cylinder is described as adequate and reasonably quiet, and the transmission is tuned to make the most of the available power. Kia also includes useful ownership conveniences such as Kia Connect features, including remote engine starting and cabin pre-conditioning when subscribed.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the car’s appeal depends heavily on condition and maintenance history, especially if you want one of the more feature-rich trims.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Kia K5?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free listings are strong but not universal. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or a car with advanced driver-assistance features, since those systems can be expensive to sort out if they were damaged or poorly repaired. Focus on interior condition too, especially the controls and touch surfaces, because the cabin tech and switchgear are a big part of the K5’s appeal.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LXS, sporty-looking GT-Line, upscale EX, and GT each bring different equipment levels, and the EX stands out for feeling especially well equipped. The base trim misses some of the richer cabin and convenience features that make the higher trims more appealing.
• Powertrain: Most versions use a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with an eight-speed automatic, while the GT gets a turbocharged 2.5-liter engine with much stronger output. The standard engine is adequate, but it is less engaging than the turbo setup.
• Safety package: Every K5 gets a long list of driver-assist features, including intersection turn assistance, active blind-spot collision avoidance, and a leading vehicle departure alert. GT-Line adds Highway Driving Assist, and EX or the GT1 Package adds a surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, side parking sensors, and reverse automatic braking.
• Infotainment: Every 2025 K5 has a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, multi-device Bluetooth pairing, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Kia Connect services. Navigation and wireless charging start with GT-Line, and EX adds a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel.
• Fuel efficiency: The official EPA fuel economy estimate is 29 mpg in combined driving, while the test car averaged 24.9 mpg on a mountainous test loop.

Which 2025 Kia K5 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Kia K5 is offered in 4 trim levels: LXS, GT-Line, EX, GT.

Here's the short version:

• LXS: This is the entry point if you want the K5’s style, standard touchscreen tech, and broad driver-assist coverage at the lowest price. It makes sense if you care most about value and can live without the richer convenience features found higher up.
• GT-Line: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds navigation, wireless charging, and Highway Driving Assist, while also giving you AWD availability. It’s the trim to target if you want a more complete daily driver without jumping to the pricier luxury-leaning EX.
• EX: This is the one to buy if you want the most upscale-feeling K5. It adds the 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and the most advanced camera and parking aids, making it the strongest pick for shoppers who want the most comfort and convenience.
• GT: This is the performance choice, with the turbocharged 2.5-liter engine, sport-tuned suspension, faster steering, and stronger brakes. Buy it if you want the quickest and most engaging K5, but expect a firmer, more specialized setup.

The safety package is extensive across the lineup, but the EX or GT1 Package brings the most advanced camera and parking features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Kia K5?

The market looks moderate, so you can shop selectively without expecting a fire sale.

• Deal availability: 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,357 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.43% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,984, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Kia K5's resale value?

The current average of $27,569 sits slightly below last year's $28,257.

That price movement suggests the K5 has softened a bit, which can help you as a buyer now but may temper resale gains later. If you buy at a strong discount, you give yourself a better cushion against future depreciation. Higher-trim examples with the best equipment may hold broader appeal, but condition and mileage will still matter most when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Kia K5 safe?

The 2025 Kia K5 earns a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia equips every K5 with a long list of driver-assist features, including intersection turn assistance, active blind-spot collision avoidance, and a leading vehicle departure alert. GT-Line adds Highway Driving Assist with hands-on semi-autonomous acceleration, braking, and steering, while EX or the GT1 Package adds a surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, side parking sensors, and reverse automatic braking.

One caveat is that the lane-keeping and lane-centering systems can be aggravating when Highway Driving Assist is not active, and the controls for turning them off are buried in the menus.

Should I buy a 2025 Kia K5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.43% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The refreshed styling, new technology, and redesigned controls make this year feel especially current.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $24,938, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $27,569 average.
• It offers a stylish, comfortable, and technologically advanced package with standard turbocharging.

The bottom line: Choose the 2025 if you want the fresher design, updated tech, and stronger feature set. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2024 is the smarter value play, especially if you can find one in good condition with the equipment you want.
