Why it stands out
The 2025 Jeep Wrangler stands out because it stays true to the formula that made it famous: iconic looks and legendary off-road ability. It is also unusually configurable, with two-door or four-door body styles, three engines, and seven trim levels. For 2025, all Wrangler models have standard power windows and door locks, the V6/automatic drivetrain returns to the lineup, and new colors include ’41, Mojito, and Joose.
That rugged character is a big part of the appeal. The Wrangler is fun to drive and impressive off-road, and its removable top and doors make it feel unlike most other vehicles on the road. It is also built for getting dirty, with drain holes in the floor so it can be hosed out. The tradeoff is that it remains noisy, rides poorly, and can be unpleasant to drive every day, so it is best suited to buyers who value adventure over refinement.

As a previous owner of a CJ7, and later a 1999 Wrangler, the 2025 Wrangler is very different. The clutch is feather light compared to any standard transmission I’ve ever driven. I love the ability to integrate my phone etc.. the Alpine stereo sounds good. The removable T top model sounds tight going down the road… Very little noise. The steering is easy yet responsive. The seats are comfortable and fit well even though I’m only 5’2” and my husband 6’1”. I wish the clutch were a bit more firm. But I’m sure I will get used to it and even prefer it overtime.

Really cool small SUV! I love the Utilitarian feel and aspect. Road noise wasn’t as bad as I expected and highway feel has change drastically over the years. Lots of power for its size with that V6

How much does the 2025 Jeep Wrangler cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $36,942 |
| Year-Round Low | $36,942 |
| Year-Round High | $44,697 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $44,684 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −17.33% |
Prices have softened 17.33% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 5,908 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for you to compare trims and equipment.
Is the 2025 Jeep Wrangler a good car?
Generally — the 2025 Jeep Wrangler earns a 4/5 user rating and a 5.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Performance and Technology.
It stands out for iconic looks and legendary off-road ability, plus two-door and four-door body styles, three engines, and seven trim levels. The trade-offs are clear: it remains noisy, rides poorly, and can be unpleasant to drive every day.
Cons: noisy, poor ride quality, and poor value for money.
For you, that means the Wrangler makes the most sense if adventure and open-air character matter more than refinement. 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2025 Jeep Wrangler reliable?
Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
The Wrangler’s appeal is rooted in durability-minded utility: it is built to get dirty, has drain holes in the floor, and is designed around rugged use. The expert evaluation also points to a vehicle that is continually evolving while staying true to its core formula.
The turbocharged four-cylinder is described as a fine powerplant aside from its nasal idle note and loud cooling fan. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the same ruggedness that makes it appealing can also mean more compromise in everyday comfort and refinement.
What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Jeep Wrangler?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one that has seen trail use. Focus on overall condition, because the Wrangler’s appeal often depends on how well it has been maintained and equipped.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The 2025 Wrangler is offered in Sport, Sport S, Willys, Sahara, Rubicon, Rubicon X, and Rubicon 392 trims. The base Sport is the most stripped-down choice, while the higher trims add more equipment and capability.
- Powertrain: You can choose a 3.6-liter V6 with a six-speed manual or a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with an eight-speed automatic. The four-cylinder makes 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque and is marginally more fuel-efficient, with an EPA rating of 21 mpg in combined driving instead of 19-20 mpg for the V6.
- Safety package: Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available on any Wrangler except the base Sport trim. Forward collision warning with automatic braking requires the Sahara, which has a standard automatic transmission. Adaptive cruise control and automatic high-beam headlights are also available.
- Infotainment: Uconnect 5 brings a 12.3-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and SiriusXM satellite radio preparation. More expensive models offer navigation and Jeep Connect connected services.
- Fuel efficiency: The turbocharged four-cylinder is rated at 21 mpg in combined driving, while the V6 returns 19-20 mpg.
Which 2025 Jeep Wrangler trim should I buy?
The 2025 Jeep Wrangler is offered in 7 trim levels: Sport, Sport S, Willys, Sahara, Rubicon, Rubicon X, and Rubicon 392.
Here's the short version:
- Sport: This is the most basic Wrangler, and it is the trim to avoid if you want the available driver-assistance features, since blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not available here.
- Sport S: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more everyday usability while staying closer to the Wrangler’s core formula. It can also be equipped with the optional Active Safety Group, which adds blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
- Willys: This trim is a step up if you want a more capability-focused setup without jumping all the way to the higher-priced Rubicon models.
- Sahara: This is the trim to consider if you want forward collision warning with automatic braking, since that feature requires the Sahara and its standard automatic transmission.
- Rubicon: Choose this if you want the most trail-focused mainstream Wrangler setup and are willing to pay for it.
- Rubicon X: This is the more upscale off-road choice, aimed at buyers who want a richer equipment mix along with serious capability.
- Rubicon 392: This is the extreme performance choice, with a 470-horsepower 6.4-liter Hemi V8 and a six-figure price tag.
The safety-package note to keep in mind is that the base Sport misses out on blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, while forward collision warning with automatic braking is reserved for the Sahara.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Jeep Wrangler?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.
- Deal availability: 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 5,908 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 17.33% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 94.6% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $36,942, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Jeep Wrangler's resale value?
The current average of $36,942 sits slightly below last year's $44,684.
That drop suggests the market has become more favorable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer pricing environment than owners saw a year ago. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to last year’s average.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2025 Jeep Wrangler safe?
The 2025 Jeep Wrangler earns Good ratings in IIHS side-impact protection and the updated moderate overlap frontal-impact test, but Marginal in the small overlap frontal-impact test. It also earns four-star ratings in frontal crash and three-star rollover resistance from NHTSA.
It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.
Jeep includes side curtain airbags for the front and rear seats, and the available driver-assistance features include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning with automatic braking, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, and automatic high-beam headlights. The catch is that many of these systems are optional, and the base Sport trim misses out on blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
The Marginal small-overlap result is the main caution for you to keep in mind if safety is a top priority.
Should I buy a 2025 Jeep Wrangler or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 17.33% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
- It adds standard power windows and door locks, plus the return of the V6/automatic drivetrain.
Consider the 2024 if:
- At $37,870, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $36,942 average.
- It emphasizes technology, safety, and refinement while keeping strong off-road ability.
Consider the 2026 if:
- It adds an enhanced hinge system that makes the doors easier to remove.
The bottom line: If you want the best mix of current pricing, broad inventory, and the latest 2025 updates, this is the year to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, compare carefully against older listings, but the 2025 is the better primary path for most used shoppers who want the Wrangler’s core appeal without paying last year’s higher average.
