How much does the 2025 Honda Pilot cost?

Prices have softened 5.53% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,008 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2025 Honda Pilot a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Honda Pilot earns a 4.91/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise the smooth ride, spacious interior, and plenty of cargo space. Comfortable seating and a strong sense of security from the safety ratings also come through as recurring positives.

The trade-offs are familiar: the technology can feel dated, and some shoppers want more luxury features in the lower trims. That lines up with the Pilot’s practical, easy-to-live-with mission as a roomy three-row SUV for daily family use.

Good and great deals account for 34.2% of listings, so there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Honda Pilot reliable?

Owners rate it 4.91/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a vehicle that feels smooth, spacious, and confidence-inspiring over time, with drivers repeatedly highlighting comfort and everyday livability. The expert evaluation also describes it as a practical daily driver that is easy to live with and built around straightforward, dependable operation.

Honda’s Service Pass coverage is limited to 12 months or 12,000 miles, so you should still budget for routine ownership costs after that window ends.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about living with average value and unimpressive fuel economy over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Honda Pilot?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one with more equipment. Focus on overall condition, signs of heavy family use, and whether the features you want are actually present on the trim you are shopping.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Sport is affordable but light on appealing amenities, while the EX-L is the recommended minimum upgrade for most shoppers. The Black Edition adds blacked-out exterior trim, black wheels, black badges, black leather seats with red perforation accents, red contrast stitching, red ambient lighting, and unique branding details.
• Powertrain: Every version uses a 3.5-liter V6 with a 10-speed automatic transmission, making 285 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive are both available, and AWD versions add hill descent control, torque vectoring, and up to 7.3 inches of ground clearance, or 8.3 inches on the TrailSport.
• Safety package: Every version gets Honda Sensing with forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. Higher trims can add parking sensors and a multi-view camera system with TrailWatch technology.
• Infotainment: The Black Edition has a 10.2-inch digital gauge panel and a 9-inch touchscreen. It includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, text-messaging support, wireless smartphone charging, navigation, HondaLink subscription services, Wi-Fi access, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The Pilot averaged 20 mpg on the evaluation loop and 17.8 mpg in city-heavy driving, with an official combined rating of 21 mpg.

Which 2025 Honda Pilot trim should I buy?

The 2025 Honda Pilot is offered in 6 trim levels: Sport, EX-L, TrailSport, Touring, Elite, and Black Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, but it is the least appealing choice if you want a more satisfying ownership experience. It makes sense only if your priority is keeping the purchase price down.
• EX-L: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the kind of equipment that makes the Pilot feel more complete without pushing you into the pricier upper end of the lineup.
• TrailSport: Choose this if you want the most rugged-looking Pilot and the trim most closely tied to added off-roading capability.
• Touring: This is the better pick if you want a more upscale family hauler with more of the convenience and tech features that help the Pilot feel less basic.
• Elite: This trim is for shoppers who want the most premium-feeling Pilot before stepping into the Black Edition’s styling treatment.
• Black Edition: This is the top-of-the-line style play, with blacked-out exterior details and red interior accents that make it stand apart visually.

Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core safety suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Honda Pilot?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,008 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.53% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $42,306, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Honda Pilot's resale value?

The current average of $42,306 sits slightly below last year's $44,780.

That price movement suggests the Pilot has softened enough to create a better buying opportunity now, but it also means future sellers may face some pressure if the market stays soft. If you buy at a favorable price today, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation later.

The Pilot’s broad appeal as a practical three-row SUV should help keep demand steady, especially among shoppers who value space and safety. Still, its resale strength will likely depend on condition, mileage, and how well-equipped the trim is.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.91/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Honda Pilot safe?

The 2025 Honda Pilot earns a Top Safety Pick+ from the IIHS and five-star ratings from NHTSA.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard on every version and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. Higher trims can add parking sensors and a multi-view camera system with TrailWatch technology.

There are some caveats to keep in mind. The lane-centering assist can feel artificial, the road sign recognition system can be inaccurate, and the adaptive cruise control showed some awkward behavior in traffic during testing.

Should I buy a 2025 Honda Pilot or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.53% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.91/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Honda keeps the formula simple with one powertrain and a Black Edition that returns to the lineup.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It brings a more truck-like look while staying fundamentally the same.

The bottom line: If you want the better shopping environment and a proven, well-liked three-row SUV, the 2025 is the stronger buy. If you are mainly comparing styling updates and do not mind waiting for a newer look, the 2026 is worth a glance, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2025’s softer market and broader deal availability.
