How much does the 2025 Honda Civic cost?

Prices have softened 3.34% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,714 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and trims.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 4.67/5 user rating and 7.83/10 expert rating both point to a strong overall package. The 2025 Civic stands out as a mid-cycle refresh that keeps the compact car’s everyday usability while adding subtle updates and a broader powertrain lineup. It also remains appealing if you want an affordable sedan or hatchback that still feels fun to drive, and the available manual transmission adds to that appeal.

The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

The main trade-offs are that all-wheel drive is not available and the manual transmission lacks some user-friendly features. Lane-keeping assist can also be irritating, so you should expect a car that prioritizes driver involvement over maximum convenience.

Good and great deals account for 36.1% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The 2025 Civic is described as a proven, well-regarded compact car that keeps its core strengths while adding meaningful updates for the model year. Its standard front-wheel-drive layout and refined everyday usability support the sense that it is built for routine ownership rather than novelty.

The expert review also highlights a smooth, user-friendly manual experience in the Si and a comfortable ride that still feels responsive. On the cost side, the model’s efficiency and value-oriented positioning reinforce the idea that it should be manageable to live with over time.

If you buy used, the biggest long-term ownership risk is choosing a car that has been neglected or modified, so a careful history check matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Honda Civic?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still review the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a manual-transmission car or one with higher mileage. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior damage, and whether the car’s equipment matches the trim you want.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The gas-only lineup is straightforward, with LX and Sport trims plus the Civic Si. The base car gets standard LED headlights and daytime running lights, while the Si adds a sportier look with a honeycomb grille texture, red interior accents, and a more distinctive cabin presentation.
• Powertrain: The base Civic uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 150 horsepower and 133 lb-ft of torque, paired with a CVT in LX and Sport. The Civic Si uses a turbocharged inline four-cylinder with 200 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque and comes only with a six-speed manual.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard on all Civics and includes updated collision-mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist. The system is improved for 2025, but lane-keeping assist can still feel overly aggressive.
• Infotainment: The Civic gets a 7-inch touchscreen standard, while the Si upgrades to a 9-inch touchscreen, Google Built-In, wireless smartphone projection, and a 12-speaker Bose Premium sound system. The Si also adds a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster.
• Fuel efficiency: The base Civic LX is rated at 32 mpg city, 41 highway, and 36 combined. The Civic Si is EPA-rated at 27 mpg city, 37 highway, and 31 combined.

Which 2025 Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2025 Honda Civic is offered in 3 trim levels: LX, Sport, Civic Si.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value play if you want the lowest starting price and the best fuel economy in the gas-only lineup. It gives you the core Civic experience without extra frills, and it’s the trim to target if affordability matters most.
• Sport: Choose this if you want a step up from the LX without jumping all the way to the Si. It keeps the Civic’s practical formula but adds a little more equipment and a slightly more upscale feel.
• Civic Si: This is the best-value trim for enthusiasts because it combines the turbocharged engine, six-speed manual, stronger tech, and the most distinctive driving character in the gas lineup.

Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, so you get the core safety package no matter which trim you choose.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Honda Civic?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,714 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.34% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,225, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $25,310 sits slightly below last year's $26,183.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help future buyers but may temper near-term resale gains for current owners. If you buy at the right price now, you may reduce the risk of taking an immediate depreciation hit. The Civic’s broad appeal and strong reputation should still help support demand when you eventually sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic safe?

The 2025 Honda Civic Hatchback and 2025 Honda Civic Sedan earn Top Safety Pick+ awards from IIHS and five-star overall ratings from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard on all Civics and includes collision-mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist. For 2025, Honda updated those systems to work more smoothly and to better detect bicycles, motorcycles, and cross traffic. The lane-keeping assist system can still feel a bit aggressive, though, so that remains the main caveat to keep in mind.

Should I buy a 2025 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.34% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Honda refreshed the Civic and expanded the gas lineup with LX, Sport, and Civic Si choices.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $25,026, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $25,310 average.
• It offers a proven, enthusiast-friendly formula with a manual transmission and strong value.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It carries forward the refreshed Civic with a more polished feel and broad body-style and powertrain choices.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of the Civic with strong market availability and a well-rounded feature set, the 2025 is the better default choice. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 can be the smarter buy, while the 2026 makes sense if you want the next model year’s carryover polish and don’t mind paying more.
