Is the 2025 Genesis GV80 a good car?

The 2025 Genesis GV80 earns an expert rating of 8/10.

The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

The GV80’s 2025 update gives you a redesigned interior and exterior, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which helps it feel more polished and modern. It also keeps standard all-wheel drive, so you get a well-equipped luxury SUV with broad appeal. The trade-offs are clear: fuel economy is poor, and the seats are far from comfortable.

At 38.0%, the share of good and great deals suggests there is still meaningful value in the market.

Is the 2025 Genesis GV80 reliable?

The 2025 GV80’s appeal starts with its established luxury-crossover formula and continues with a powertrain that carries over for 2025. Genesis also gives you standard all-wheel drive across the lineup, and the SUV’s updated tech and driver-assistance features add to its everyday usability.

The performance setup is straightforward: a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder is standard, while a twin-turbocharged six-cylinder is available on higher trims. The GV80 is tuned more for calm cruising than sporty driving, and the brakes feel firm and confident. Genesis also backs the SUV with a 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty and a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the GV80’s comfort and efficiency compromises may matter more over time than its strong feature set.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Genesis GV80?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are comparing higher-mileage examples or trims with more equipment. Focus on overall condition, since the GV80’s appeal depends heavily on how well the cabin, tech, and comfort features have been maintained.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup starts with Standard, then moves through AWD, Select, Advance and Prestige. The base setup gives you the core luxury-SUV experience, while higher trims add more equipment and features.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder makes 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, while the available twin-turbocharged six-cylinder makes 375 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque. The GV80 is tuned more for relaxed cruising than sporty driving.
• Safety package: Every GV80 gets lane keeping assist, forward collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and Highway Drive Assist. Upper trims add remote smart parking and a 360-degree camera system, and the blind view monitor is included as well.
• Infotainment: All trims get a 27-inch OLED screen that combines the gauge cluster and infotainment display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, along with wireless charging, a Wi-Fi hotspot and four USB-C ports.
• Fuel efficiency: The four-cylinder engine is rated at 19 mpg city, 24 mpg highway and 21 mpg combined. The six-cylinder returns 16/22/19.

Which 2025 Genesis GV80 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Genesis GV80 is offered in 5 trim levels: Standard, AWD, Select, Advance and Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• Standard: This is the entry point if you want the GV80’s core luxury feel, standard all-wheel drive and the main tech and safety features without stretching for extras.
• AWD: This is the best-value trim if you want the added equipment Genesis deleted from the lower-priced setup, including a heated steering wheel, digital key and spare tire.
• Select: Choose this if you want a step up from the basics and are building toward a more fully equipped GV80 without jumping straight to the top trims.
• Advance: This is where the larger 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged engine becomes available, so it makes sense if you want more power along with a richer feature set.
• Prestige: Pick this if you want the most upscale GV80 experience, including the strongest mix of luxury features and the available larger engine.

Genesis’ safety package is standard across the lineup, while upper trims add features like remote smart parking and a 360-degree camera system.
