How much does the 2025 GMC Yukon XL cost?

Prices have softened 12.69% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,563 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 GMC Yukon XL a good car?

The 2025 GMC Yukon XL stands out as a full-size SUV built around space, flexibility, and a wide spread of powertrain choices. Its long-wheelbase design adds more than a foot between the front and rear axles, which translates into extra room for third-row passengers and a larger cargo area. It also offers three powertrain options, all paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, including a standard 5.3L V8, an optional 6.2L V8, and an optional 3.0L Duramax turbo diesel engine.

That combination makes it appealing if you need a large SUV that can be configured for family duty, towing, or long-distance efficiency. For 2025, GMC also broadened the Yukon XL’s appeal with updates to the lineup and cabin, including a larger 16.8-inch infotainment system with Google Built-In and available Night Vision.

Deal availability: 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 GMC Yukon XL reliable?

The 2025 GMC Yukon XL is presented as a premium, tech-forward large SUV with a broad spread of powertrain choices and a cabin focused on flexibility and utility. Its appeal comes from the way it balances passenger space, cargo room, and available features rather than from any claim of simplicity.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a large, feature-rich SUV can bring higher repair and maintenance exposure than a smaller vehicle, especially if it has been used hard for towing or family hauling.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 GMC Yukon XL?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report on any listing you’re serious about, especially if the vehicle has been used for towing or long trips. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the suspension, brakes, tires, and interior wear, since those areas can reveal how the SUV was actually used. Focus on overall condition and maintenance evidence, because a large SUV like this can vary a lot from one example to the next.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 GMC Yukon XL?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,563 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.69% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $72,274, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 GMC Yukon XL's resale value?

The current average of $72,274 sits slightly below last year's $82,781.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you should be better positioned than someone who pays near the top of the range. For a future seller, the key will be how much depreciation has already been absorbed and how cleanly the vehicle is maintained over time.

Should I buy a 2025 GMC Yukon XL or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.69% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better pick if you want the updated cabin, expanded tech, and strong space-and-capability formula in a year with softer pricing. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still make sense, but the 2025 gives you a compelling mix of inventory, condition, and value if you can find a clean example at the right price.
