How much does the 2025 GMC Yukon XL cost?

Prices have softened 13.80% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,636 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 GMC Yukon XL a good car?

The 2025 GMC Yukon XL stands out as a full-size SUV built around space, flexibility, and a wide spread of powertrain choices. Its long-wheelbase design adds more than a foot between the front and rear axles, which translates into extra room for third-row passengers and a larger cargo area. It also offers three powertrain options, all paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, including a standard 5.3L V8, an optional 6.2L V8, and an optional 3.0L Duramax turbo diesel engine. That combination makes it appealing if you need a large SUV that can be configured for family duty, towing, or long-distance efficiency.

For 2025, GMC also broadened the Yukon XL’s appeal with updates to the lineup and cabin. The base trim was renamed Yukon Elevation, the AT4 Ultimate was added, and the Denali Ultimate gained woodland mahogany full-grain leather seating surfaces. Night Vision also became available, helping the driver detect people or animals in the dark. The infotainment system with Google Built-In was enlarged to 16.8 inches, and the optional Duramax turbo-diesel engine’s power rose from 277 to 305 horsepower.

37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2025 GMC Yukon XL reliable?

The 2025 GMC Yukon XL is positioned as a premium, tech-forward large SUV with a broad feature set and multiple powertrain choices. Its appeal comes from how much space and flexibility it gives you, along with the ability to tailor it toward family use, towing, or long-distance driving.

Even with its strengths, the Yukon XL remains a vehicle with the usual tradeoffs of its size. The buying guide notes poor fuel economy and poor handling compared with car-based crossovers, so it is best suited to shoppers who truly need its passenger and cargo capacity.

For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is tied more to size, complexity, and operating costs than to everyday practicality.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 GMC Yukon XL?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the specific listing matches the seller’s description. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with towing use. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and signs of wear in the cabin, suspension, and drivetrain.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 GMC Yukon XL?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,636 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.80% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $71,267, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 GMC Yukon XL's resale value?

The current average of $71,267 sits slightly below last year's $82,675.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more selectively today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle is equipped. If you keep the SUV clean, well maintained, and documented, you’ll be in a better position when it’s time to sell.

Should I buy a 2025 GMC Yukon XL or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.80% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better pick if you want the updated cabin, expanded feature set, and a market that has softened enough to create some negotiating room. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still make sense, especially if you can find a cleaner example with the equipment you want at a lower asking price.
