The 2025 GMC Terrain stands out as a redesigned compact SUV that brings a more modern cabin and updated styling to the nameplate. Standard equipment includes a 15-inch touchscreen with the latest GMC infotainment software and Google built-in, plus an 11-inch digital driver information center positioned in front of the driver. Heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and LED headlamps are also standard, giving the Terrain a well-equipped feel right from the start.
It is also notable for offering a broad set of driver-assistance and convenience features. GMC includes adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, enhanced automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian and bicyclist braking, intersection automatic emergency braking, rear cross traffic braking, reverse automatic braking, side bicyclist alert, and blind zone steering assist. A Drive Mode Selector is new for 2025, and all-wheel-drive versions add an Off-Road mode. Families may also appreciate Teen Driver technology, which lets individual keys be programmed with speed limits and maximum audio levels.
At the same time, the Terrain has some clear limitations. GMC does not currently list a hybrid powertrain option, and cargo space is on the small side for the compact crossover segment, with 30 cubic feet behind the rear seats and up to 64 cubic feet with them folded. Even so, the 2025 Terrain should appeal to buyers who want a compact SUV with a polished interior, strong standard technology, and a long list of safety features.
