How much does the 2025 GMC Terrain cost?

Prices have softened 8.24% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,987 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and trims.

Is the 2025 GMC Terrain a good car?

The 2025 GMC Terrain stands out as a redesigned compact SUV with a more upscale, tech-heavy cabin than before. For this model year, GMC gave it new styling, revisions to the powertrain lineup, and a thoroughly upgraded interior. Standard equipment is especially notable: the 2025 Terrain Elevation includes a 15-inch touchscreen with the latest GMC infotainment software and Google built-in, plus an 11-inch digital driver information center directly in front of the driver. Heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and LED headlamps are also standard, which helps the Terrain feel well equipped right from the start.

It also brings a useful mix of safety and convenience features. GMC added a Drive Mode Selector for 2025, with Normal and Snow modes on front-wheel-drive models and Normal, AWD, Snow, and Off-Road modes on all-wheel-drive versions. The standard safety suite is broad, including adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, enhanced automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian and bicyclist braking, intersection automatic emergency braking, rear cross traffic braking, reverse automatic braking, side bicyclist alert, and blind zone steering assist. Families may also appreciate Teen Driver technology, which lets individual keys be programmed with speed limits and maximum audio levels.

The Terrain’s appeal is strongest for buyers who want a compact SUV with a premium feel and a lot of standard technology, but it is not the roomiest choice in the class. GMC says there is space for four adults, or five at a pinch, and cargo capacity is 30 cubic feet with the rear seats up or up to 64 cubic feet folded flat. It also lacks a hybrid powertrain option, which may matter to shoppers comparing it with some key rivals.

With 40.3% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have a meaningful share of the market to shop from.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that you should expect a feature-rich SUV to reward careful maintenance and a thorough pre-purchase check, especially if you plan to keep it for several years.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 GMC Terrain?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and confirm the listing’s accident and title history before you commit. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the electronics, driver-assistance systems, and cabin features, since this model leans heavily on technology. Focus on overall condition, service records, and whether the vehicle’s equipment works as advertised.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 GMC Terrain?

This looks like a buyer-friendly market for the 2025 GMC Terrain, with meaningful deal availability and a price trend that has moved in your favor.

• Deal availability: 40.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,987 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.24% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,300, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 GMC Terrain's resale value?

The current average of $27,342 sits slightly below last year's $29,797.

That price movement suggests the Terrain is currently trading in a softer market than it was a year ago, which can help you buy at a better entry point. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and equipment than on broad market momentum alone. If you keep the vehicle well maintained and shop carefully now, you may be better positioned to limit depreciation later.

Should I buy a 2025 GMC Terrain or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 40.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.24% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better pick if you want the redesigned cabin, standard tech, and a strong mix of safety features, especially while prices are softer than they were a year ago. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still make sense, but the 2025 gives you the freshest version of the Terrain with a market that currently favors buyers.
