Used 2025 Ford Maverick for Sale nearElmira, NY

How much does the 2025 Ford Maverick cost?

Prices have softened 4.11% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,767 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable range of choices.

Is the 2025 Ford Maverick a good car?

Generally — the 2025 Ford Maverick earns a 4.4/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, and Technology.

Owners repeatedly praise its practicality, comfortable seating, and good fuel economy, especially with the hybrid. They also like the spacious interior and modern features. On the downside, some owners wish it had more safety features and comfort equipment.

That lines up with the overview: you get pickup usefulness in a compact, approachable package, plus a broader 2025 lineup that adds styling and tech updates. The trade-off is that the Maverick’s value story is less compelling than it once was, and the cabin’s touchscreen-heavy controls can be frustrating.

Good and great deals account for 33.5% of listings, so there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Ford Maverick reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as practical, comfortable, and good on fuel economy, and those are the kinds of traits that usually support confidence in everyday ownership. The expert review also says the Maverick remains practical and pleasant to drive, with the hybrid form especially suited to daily use. Ford’s hybrid powertrain warranty coverage is also a useful ownership perk.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the truck’s appeal depends on finding one that has been maintained well and equipped to your needs, since the feature mix varies a lot by trim.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Ford Maverick?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report on any truck you’re serious about, then prioritize a close inspection of the cabin controls, safety equipment, and overall condition. Because the Maverick’s trim and equipment spread is wide, it pays to verify exactly which features are present on the specific listing you’re considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes XL, XLT, Lariat, Tremor, and Lobo. The base XL is the simplest version, while XLT and Lariat add more upscale touches, and the specialty Tremor and Lobo models bring distinct personalities. The base trim is the one most likely to leave you wanting more equipment.
• Powertrain: The standard hybrid uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with a single electric motor and CVT, while the optional 2.0-liter turbo-four brings more power. The hybrid is the efficiency play, and the turbo engine is the stronger choice if you want more punch.
• Safety package: Ford’s driver-assistance setup is not fully standard. Base XL models get forward-collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, and automatic high beams, while XLT adds lane-keep assist and lane-departure warning, and Lariat or Tremor are needed for adaptive cruise control with lane-centering and stop-and-go. A 360-degree camera is also available.
• Infotainment: The truck uses a 13.2-inch touchscreen with Sync 4, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an eight-inch digital instrument cluster. The system is modern, but some controls still rely on the touchscreen.
• Fuel efficiency: The base FWD hybrid is rated at 42 mpg city and 35 mpg highway, while the AWD hybrid is rated at 40 mpg city and 34 mpg highway. The 2.0-liter turbo-four is rated at 22 mpg city and 30 mpg highway in XL, XLT, and Lariat form.

Which 2025 Ford Maverick trim should I buy?

The 2025 Ford Maverick is offered in 5 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, Tremor, and Lobo.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the entry point and the best fit if you want the lowest-cost way into the Maverick lineup. It gives you the core truck experience, but it is also the trim most likely to feel stripped down compared with the others.
• XLT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds meaningful equipment over XL without pushing you into the pricier upper end of the range. It also brings important safety upgrades, including lane-keep assist and lane-departure warning.
• Lariat: This is the more upscale choice if you want a richer feature set and more available driver assistance. It also unlocks adaptive cruise control with lane-centering and stop-and-go, which makes it the better pick for buyers who want more convenience.
• Tremor: This is the off-road-focused model, with dedicated suspension tuning, all-terrain tires, skid plates, and a twin-clutch rear drive unit for its AWD system. It is the right choice if you want the Maverick’s most rugged character.
• Lobo: This is the most distinctive trim if you want the Maverick’s playful, street-truck personality. It adds lowered suspension, unique styling, and a handling-focused setup that makes it stand out from the rest of the lineup.

Advanced safety features are not standard, so if those matter to you, make sure the trim you choose includes the driver-assistance equipment you want.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Ford Maverick?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage but should still move quickly on the right truck.

• Deal availability: 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,767 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.11% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $31,514, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Ford Maverick's resale value?

The current average of $31,516 sits slightly below last year's $32,866.

That softer pricing suggests the Maverick has cooled from where it was a year ago, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. Even so, the truck still has a practical, fuel-efficient reputation that should keep it appealing to a broad pool of shoppers. The strongest resale candidates will likely be the versions with the right mix of equipment, condition, and mileage.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Ford Maverick safe?

The 2025 Maverick earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four-star ratings in rollover crash testing and five-star ratings in frontal and side crash tests. The IIHS gave it a top Good rating in the updated side crash test, but only Marginal in the updated moderate overlap front test and Acceptable for headlights.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford’s standard driver-assistance setup includes forward-collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, and automatic high beams on the base XL. You need to move up to XLT for lane-keep assist and lane-departure warning, and to Lariat or Tremor for adaptive cruise control with lane-centering and stop-and-go. A 360-degree camera is also available for 2025.

The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, so you should pay close attention to trim level if safety tech matters to you.

Should I buy a 2025 Ford Maverick or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.11% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 model adds styling and tech updates, plus a Maverick Lobo performance variant and an all-wheel drive hybrid.

The bottom line: If you want the newest Maverick with updated tech, broader powertrain choices, and a still-reasonable used-market price, the 2025 is the one to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may deliver more value, but you will give up some of the 2025 updates and the broader trim mix.
