Used 2025 Chevrolet Traverse for Sale nearSalem, IL

How much does the 2025 Chevrolet Traverse cost?

Prices have softened 3.38% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,359 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Chevrolet Traverse earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.

It stands out as one of the larger midsize three-row SUVs available, with stylish design, plenty of cargo space, and impressive technology. The trade-offs are the unpleasant engine note and cheap-feeling interior plastics, along with fussy wiper controls and an aggravating third-row folding process.

For buyers who want a family-focused SUV with a more upscale presence, the Traverse fits that brief well, especially if technology and utility matter most. 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Traverse’s appeal is reinforced by its broad utility, strong technology, and standard trailering capability, which make it feel well suited to family use. At the same time, the expert evaluation points to quality concerns around the powertrain and interior materials, so you should pay close attention to how the cabin wears and how the drivetrain feels on a test drive.

The 2.5-liter turbocharged engine delivers strong output, but its sound and some driving manners are less polished than you might expect. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is more about refinement and perceived quality than outright capability.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Chevrolet Traverse?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a thorough inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with added equipment. Focus on cabin condition, third-row usability, and how the controls and folding seats operate in person.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The available trims are LT, Z71, High Country, and RS. The base-level gap is meaningful because the LT is the entry point, while the Z71 adds the off-road-oriented hardware and the High Country brings the upscale positioning.
• Powertrain: The Traverse uses a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque. It can feel strong, but the engine note is a recurring drawback, and front-wheel-drive operation can bring wheel spin and torque steer.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, active blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, intersection braking, rear automatic braking, automatic high-beam headlights, pedestrian and cyclist detection, and a Safety Alert Seat. The Driver Confidence Package adds a high-definition surround-view camera system, traffic sign recognition, and rear pedestrian alert, while the Enhanced Driving Package adds Super Cruise and remote-parking technology.
• Infotainment: You get a standard 17.7-inch touchscreen with Google Built-in, Google Maps navigation, Google Assistant, Google Play Store access, Alexa compatibility, OnStar connected services, a Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, and SiriusXM 360L.
• Fuel efficiency: The Traverse Z71 is EPA-rated at 21 mpg in combined driving, and the test vehicle averaged 21.5 mpg in mixed use.

Which 2025 Chevrolet Traverse trim should I buy?

The 2025 Chevrolet Traverse is offered in 4 trim levels: LT, Z71, High Country, and RS.

Here's the short version:

• LT: This is the starting point, so it makes sense if you want the Traverse’s core space, tech, and safety equipment without paying for the more specialized trims.
• Z71: This is the best fit if you want the most capability and the most distinctive character. It adds off-road suspension tuning, all-terrain tires, a skid plate, red tow hooks, a more capable Twin Clutch AWD system, Terrain mode, hill descent control, and improved approach angle.
• High Country: This is the upscale choice in the lineup and suits you if you want the most premium-feeling Traverse.
• RS: This is the style-forward trim for shoppers who want a sportier appearance and a more expressive look.

The safety package is broad across the lineup, but the Driver Confidence Package and Enhanced Driving Package add meaningful extras if you want more advanced assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Chevrolet Traverse?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,359 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.38% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $39,023, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $40,365 sits slightly below last year's $41,776.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point. For a future seller, that also means resale performance will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim desirability rather than broad market momentum alone.

The Traverse’s strong technology and family-friendly utility should help it stay relevant with shoppers who want a three-row SUV. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Traverse safe?

The 2025 Traverse earns a Top Safety Pick award from IIHS and a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevrolet equips every 2025 Traverse with a broad standard safety suite that includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, active blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, intersection braking, rear automatic braking, automatic high-beam headlights, pedestrian and cyclist detection, and a Safety Alert Seat.

If you want more advanced assistance, the Enhanced Driving Package adds Super Cruise and remote-parking technology, while the Driver Confidence Package adds a high-definition surround-view camera system, traffic sign recognition, and rear pedestrian alert. The main caveat is that some of the most advanced features are tied to packages rather than being standard across every version.

Should I buy a 2025 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.38% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds a new High Country trim and makes trailering easier with standard equipment.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $38,236, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $40,365 average.
• It brings a more assertive redesign with more standard driver aids and more passenger space.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It emphasizes a spacious interior, a pleasant ride, and lots of safety equipment.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better pick if you want the latest mix of standard trailering capability, strong tech, and broad safety equipment. If your priority is spending less, the 2024 is the smarter value play, especially if you can find one in clean condition with the features you want.
