How much does the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe cost?

Prices have softened 13.64% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,472 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

The Tahoe’s appeal comes from its meaningful refresh, which brings a new front and rear fascia, new lighting signatures, and a more modern interior with a fancy touchscreen. It also keeps its full-size SUV mission intact, so you still get the kind of capability and practicality that make this nameplate appealing if you need a large family hauler or tow vehicle.

The trade-offs are real: cargo space is tight with all rows in place, and the V8 engines are thirsty. Even so, the Tahoe’s upgraded diesel engine gives you a stronger mechanical story, and the model’s broad capability makes it a compelling choice if you want a big SUV that feels more current than before.

38.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Tahoe’s 5.3-liter V8 is described as a battle-tested engine with a strong reputation for reliability, and the upgraded diesel is presented as refined, smooth, and quiet. The model also benefits from a 10-speed automatic transmission that works fairly unobtrusively, which supports a generally reassuring ownership experience.

Chevrolet also includes a useful maintenance perk in the form of a first scheduled maintenance visit that is on the house. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a large, highly capable SUV can become expensive to live with if prior maintenance was skipped or if you end up needing repairs on its more complex equipment.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with more complex equipment. Focus on overall condition, signs of heavy family use, and whether the cabin, electronics, and suspension systems all work as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LS offers a no-frills approach, while the LT, Z71, RST, Premier, and High Country add more equipment and more expensive positioning. The Z71 is aimed at off-road capability, the RST leans into street-performance-focused styling, and the Premier and High Country target more luxurious shoppers.
• Powertrain: You can choose from a 5.3-liter V8, a 6.2-liter V8, or an upgraded 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder diesel. The diesel is the standout for its refined, smooth, quiet character and up to 27 mpg on the highway.
• Safety package: Every Tahoe includes automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning, pedestrian and bicycle braking, automatic parking assist, a surround-view camera, and a teen driver monitoring system. Super Cruise is available, but not on the initial wave of new Tahoes.
• Infotainment: Every Tahoe gets a 17.7-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Google Built-in. The system also supports a linked account and a 5G subscription for app access.
• Fuel efficiency: The diesel can return up to 27 mpg on the highway.

Which 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe trim should I buy?

The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe is offered in 6 trim levels: LS, LT, Z71, RST, Premier, High Country.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the value play if you want the Tahoe’s core strengths without paying for extra luxury or specialty content. It still gets the big 17.7-inch touchscreen and the standard ADAS suite, which makes it the best starting point for shoppers who care most about capability and modern tech.
• LT: This is the trim to target if you want a more rounded Tahoe with broader powertrain availability and a better balance of equipment and price. It’s the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds meaningful flexibility without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• Z71: Choose this if you want the most ruggedly equipped Tahoe. It adds full-length skid plates, front recovery hooks, more black trim, all-terrain tires, and a one-inch lift, making it the clear pick if you like the off-road-oriented look and hardware.
• RST: This is the style-forward choice, with street-performance-focused styling and access to the stronger 6.2-liter V8 and air suspension. It suits you if you want a more aggressive appearance and a more premium-feeling setup.
• Premier: This trim moves the Tahoe into a more luxurious lane and also opens the door to the 6.2-liter V8 and available diesel. It’s a strong fit if you want comfort and upscale equipment without going all the way to the top.
• High Country: This is the top-tier choice, and it comes standard with the 6.2-liter V8. Pick it if you want the most upscale Tahoe experience and don’t mind paying for it.

The standard ADAS suite is included even on the lowest-level LS trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe?

The market looks selective rather than overheated, so you have room to shop, but the best examples can still move quickly.

• Deal availability: 38.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,472 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.64% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $61,267, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe's resale value?

The current average of $61,267 sits slightly below last year's $70,945.

That price movement suggests the Tahoe has become more accessible to used buyers, which can help demand in the near term. For a future seller, that means you may not see the same pricing strength that existed a year ago, especially if the market continues to favor shoppers.

Even so, the Tahoe’s broad appeal, strong capability, and updated interior should help it remain desirable. Well-equipped examples with the right condition and mileage should hold buyer interest better than neglected or heavily used ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe safe?

The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe has not been evaluated by NHTSA, but the 2024 Tahoe received a four-star overall rating from NHTSA. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the 2024 Tahoe an Acceptable rating in the small overlap front test and a Poor rating in the moderate overlap front updated test, and it was not awarded a Top Safety Pick designation.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevrolet includes a strong standard driver-assistance package with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning, pedestrian and bicycle braking, automatic parking assist, a surround-view camera, and a teen driver monitoring system. Super Cruise will be available, but not on the initial wave of new Tahoes.

The main caveat is that the IIHS results are mixed, so you should not assume the Tahoe is class-leading on crash performance just because it has a long list of standard safety tech.

Should I buy a 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 38.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.64% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 Tahoe stands out for its meaningful refresh, upgraded available diesel engine, and much-improved interior and touchscreen.

The bottom line: If you want the most current Tahoe experience, the 2025 is the better pick because it brings the refreshed styling, upgraded tech, and stronger diesel story. If your priority is simply getting into a Tahoe for less money, a nearby model year can still make sense, but the 2025 is the one to choose if you value the update and can find a well-priced example.
