How much does the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe cost?

Prices have softened 11.85% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,268 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

The Tahoe’s appeal comes from its refreshed styling, improved interior, and upgraded available diesel engine, which make it feel more current than before. It still fits the full-size SUV mission well, with strong capability and a modern cabin that should suit you if you want a large family hauler with serious utility.

The main trade-offs are tight cargo space with all rows in place and thirsty V8 engines. Even so, the Tahoe’s combination of updated tech and broad capability makes it a strong fit if you want a big SUV that can tow, carry passengers, and feel more upscale than the previous version.

41.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Tahoe’s 5.3-liter V8 is described as a battle-tested engine with a strong reputation for reliability, and the available diesel is presented as refined, smooth, and quiet. The 2025 model also keeps a 10-speed automatic transmission and a familiar full-size SUV formula, which supports confidence in day-to-day ownership.

Chevrolet also includes physical controls for key functions, which can reduce frustration over time compared with overly screen-dependent setups. For used buyers, the biggest long-term risk is that the Tahoe’s size, fuel use, and premium equipment can make ownership costs feel heavier than they do in smaller SUVs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a large SUV where wear can vary a lot by use. Focus on overall condition, interior wear, and whether the truck has been used for towing or heavy family duty, since those factors can affect long-term value and upkeep.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LS is the no-frills starting point, while the LT, Z71, RST, Premier, and High Country add more equipment and more expensive positioning. The Z71 is the rugged-looking choice with full-length skid plates, front recovery hooks, all-terrain tires, and an extra one-inch lift, while the RST leans toward street-performance styling and the High Country targets a more luxurious buyer.
• Powertrain: You can shop the 5.3-liter V8 with 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, the 6.2-liter V8 with 420 hp and 460 lb-ft, or the upgraded 3.0-liter diesel with 305 hp and 495 lb-ft. The diesel is the standout for efficiency, with up to 27 mpg on the highway, and it’s the best fit if you want strong performance without the V8 thirst.
• Safety package: Every Tahoe includes automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning, pedestrian and bicycle braking, automatic parking assist, a surround-view camera, and a teen driver monitoring system. Super Cruise is available, but not on the initial wave of new Tahoes expected in late 2024.
• Infotainment: Every Tahoe gets a 17.7-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and Google Built-in. The system also works with an 11-inch driver information screen and an optional 15-inch head-up display, though the driver-display controls can take some getting used to.
• Fuel efficiency: The diesel is the efficiency leader, with up to 27 mpg on the highway.

Which 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe trim should I buy?

The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe is offered in 6 trim levels: LS, LT, Z71, RST, Premier, High Country.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the value starting point, and it already gets the big 17.7-inch touchscreen plus the standard ADAS suite. If you want the lowest entry price and still want the major tech and safety upgrades, this is the trim to start with.
• LT: This is the logical step up if you want a more well-rounded Tahoe without jumping too far up the price ladder. It also opens the door to the diesel engine, which is the best all-around powertrain if you care about refinement and efficiency.
• Z71: This is the best fit if you want the Tahoe’s more rugged personality, with skid plates, recovery hooks, all-terrain tires, and a lifted stance. It’s also the first trim where the diesel is available, which makes it especially appealing if you want capability and efficiency together.
• RST: This is the style-forward choice, with street-performance-focused styling and access to the 6.2-liter V8. It suits you best if you want a Tahoe that looks and feels a bit more aggressive.
• Premier: This is the upscale middle ground, with access to the diesel, 6.2-liter V8, and available Air Ride adaptive suspension. It’s a strong pick if you want luxury-leaning comfort without going all the way to the top trim.
• High Country: This is the top-tier choice, and it comes standard with the 6.2-liter V8. Pick it if you want the most premium Tahoe experience and don’t mind paying for it.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, so you don’t need to move up trims just to get the core driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe?

The market looks favorable for shoppers right now, especially if you’re comparing multiple listings and waiting for the right price.

• Deal availability: 41.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,268 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.85% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $62,826, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe's resale value?

The current average of $62,826 sits slightly below last year's $71,270.

That price movement suggests the Tahoe has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right number today. If you shop carefully now, you may have less downside risk than someone who bought when prices were higher.

The Tahoe’s strong market presence and broad appeal should help it remain easy to explain to future buyers. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe safe?

The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe has not been crash-tested by NHTSA, and IIHS gave the 2024 Tahoe an Acceptable rating in the small overlap front test and a Poor rating in the moderate overlap front updated test, with no Top Safety Pick designation.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevrolet includes a strong standard driver-assistance package with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning, pedestrian and bicycle braking, automatic parking assist, a surround-view camera, and a teen driver monitoring system. Super Cruise will be available, but not on the initial wave of new Tahoes expected in late 2024.

The main caveat is that the IIHS results are mixed, so you should not assume the Tahoe is class-leading on crash performance just because it has a long list of standard safety tech.

Should I buy a 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 41.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.85% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 Tahoe brings a meaningful refresh with new front and rear styling, a much improved interior, and an upgraded available diesel engine.

The bottom line: If you want the most current Tahoe in this price band, the 2025 is the better pick because it adds meaningful interior and tech upgrades while prices have eased. If your priority is simply getting into a Tahoe for less money, a nearby model year may be worth a look, but the 2025 gives you the strongest mix of freshness, equipment, and market value.
