How much does the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe cost?

Prices have softened 13.14% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,494 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare across trims and conditions.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

The Tahoe’s appeal is strongest if you want a full-size SUV that feels more current than before, thanks to its meaningful refresh, new front and rear styling, and upgraded interior tech. It also keeps the Tahoe formula intact: serious capability, strong towing potential, and a broad powertrain lineup.

The trade-offs are clear, though. Cargo space is tight with all rows in place, and the V8 engines are thirsty.

The Tahoe’s 33.8% good-or-great deal share suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Tahoe’s 5.3-liter V8 is described as a battle-tested engine with a strong reputation for reliability, and the available diesel is presented as refined, smooth, and quiet. The 2025 model also benefits from a more modern cabin and updated hardware, which should help it feel less dated over time.

If you’re buying used, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Tahoe’s size, complexity, and thirsty V8s can make upkeep and day-to-day running costs more demanding than you might expect.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with larger wheels and more complex suspension equipment. Focus on cabin condition, infotainment operation, and whether the truck has been used for towing or heavy family duty.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LS is the no-frills starting point, while the LT, Z71, RST, Premier, and High Country add more equipment and more expensive positioning. The Z71 is the rugged-looking choice with full-length skid plates, front recovery hooks, more black trim, all-terrain tires, and a one-inch lift, while the RST leans toward street-performance styling. The High Country and Premier target more luxurious shoppers.
• Powertrain: The Tahoe offers a 5.3-liter V8, a 6.2-liter V8, and an upgraded 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder diesel. The diesel is the standout for its refined feel and up to 27 mpg on the highway, while the V8s deliver traditional Tahoe character but use more fuel.
• Safety package: Every Tahoe includes automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning, pedestrian and bicycle braking, automatic parking assist, a surround-view camera, and a teen driver monitoring system. GM’s Super Cruise is available, but not on the initial wave of 2025 models.
• Infotainment: Every Tahoe gets a 17.7-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and Google Built-in. The system also works with an 11-inch driver information screen and an available 15-inch head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: The diesel can return up to 27 mpg on the highway.

Which 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe trim should I buy?

The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe is offered in 6 trim levels: LS, LT, Z71, RST, Premier, High Country.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the value starting point if you want the Tahoe’s core capability and the new 17.7-inch touchscreen without paying for extra luxury or appearance upgrades. It’s the trim that makes the most sense if you want the lowest entry price and can live without the more specialized equipment found higher up the range.
• LT: This is the trim to target if you want a more balanced Tahoe with broader powertrain availability and a better mix of comfort and tech. It’s the best-value choice for many shoppers because it sits in the middle of the lineup without pushing too far into luxury pricing.
• Z71: Choose this if you want the most rugged-looking Tahoe, with skid plates, recovery hooks, all-terrain tires, and a lifted stance. It’s the right pick if you like the off-road-oriented styling and hardware, but it’s not the best choice if you’re mainly shopping for value.
• RST: This is the style-forward choice, with street-performance-focused appearance and access to stronger powertrain options. It suits you if you want a more aggressive look without moving all the way to the luxury end.
• Premier: This is the upscale comfort trim for shoppers who want more luxury and can justify the higher price. It also opens the door to stronger engine choices.
• High Country: This is the top-tier Tahoe if you want the most premium version, and it comes standard with the 6.2-liter V8. It’s the right pick if you want the most powerful and most luxurious mainstream Tahoe.

The Z71 and High Country can be equipped with Air Ride adaptive suspension, and the Z71 and RST can also be paired with additional suspension options.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe?

The market looks selective rather than overheated, so you have room to shop, but the best listings still deserve quick attention.

• Deal availability: 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,494 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.14% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $61,586, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe's resale value?

The current average of $61,586 sits slightly below last year's $70,902.

That softer pricing can help you buy more affordably now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if prices continue to normalize. The Tahoe’s broad appeal, strong capability, and updated cabin should help support demand, especially for well-equipped examples in clean condition.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe safe?

The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe has not been evaluated by NHTSA, but the 2024 Tahoe received four out of five stars in overall crash safety. The 2024 Tahoe also received an Acceptable rating in the small overlap front test, a Poor rating in the moderate overlap front updated test, and was not awarded a Top Safety Pick designation.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevrolet includes a strong standard driver-assistance suite on every Tahoe: automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning, pedestrian and bicycle braking, automatic parking assist, a surround-view camera, and a teen driver monitoring system. GM’s Super Cruise hands-free driving tech is also available, though not on the initial wave of 2025 models.

The main caveat is that the Tahoe’s crash-test record is mixed, so you should treat the standard safety tech as a helpful layer of protection rather than a substitute for careful driving and a thorough inspection.

Should I buy a 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 brings a meaningful refresh with new front and rear styling, a much larger touchscreen, and an upgraded diesel engine.

The bottom line: If you want the most current Tahoe with the best mix of updated styling, stronger tech, and improved diesel performance, the 2025 is the one to target. If your priority is simply getting into a Tahoe for less money, a nearby model year may be the better value path, especially if you can find a clean, well-equipped example.
