How much does the 2025 Chevrolet Malibu cost?

Prices have softened 10.99% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,371 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Malibu a good car?

The 2025 Chevrolet Malibu stands out as a roomy, value-oriented midsize sedan with a long history of improving refinement. For you, that means a practical family car with a spacious back seat, a broad spread of available equipment, and a price position that tends to undercut many rivals. It is also described as sleeker and more sophisticated than the Malibu it replaced, though it still trails some competitors in refinement and interior quality.

With 39.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you a decent chance to find attractive pricing if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Malibu reliable?

The 2025 Chevrolet Malibu has a relatively strong reliability record compared with earlier Malibus. The later-generation cars are described as generally more reliable than earlier ones, which is a meaningful plus if you want a used sedan that should be easier to live with over time.

For long-term ownership, your biggest risk is buying a neglected example, so condition and maintenance history matter more than the badge alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Chevrolet Malibu?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize any signs of prior damage, inconsistent maintenance, or poor repairs. Focus your inspection on overall condition, since a clean-looking listing can still hide wear that affects long-term value and ownership satisfaction.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Chevrolet Malibu?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you have room to compare listings and wait for the right example.

• Deal availability: 39.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,371 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.99% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,925, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Chevrolet Malibu's resale value?

The current average of $19,925 sits slightly below last year's $22,385.

That price movement suggests the Malibu has become more affordable for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer resale environment than they would have a year ago. If you buy at the right price and keep the car in strong condition, you can help protect your value when it is time to sell. The key is to avoid overpaying now, since the market has already moved lower.

Should I buy a 2025 Chevrolet Malibu or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 39.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.99% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2025 Malibu makes the most sense if you want a roomy, value-focused midsize sedan and you can find a clean example at a competitive price. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may also be worth considering, but the 2025 is the better starting point when you want the latest year in this run with strong inventory and a softer market.
