How much does the 2025 Chevrolet Malibu cost?

Prices have softened 12.08% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,178 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Malibu a good car?

The 2025 Chevrolet Malibu stands out as a roomy, value-oriented midsize sedan with a long history of improving refinement. For you, that means a practical family car with a spacious back seat, a broad spread of available equipment, and a price position that tends to undercut some rivals.

It also brings a sleeker, more sophisticated look than the Malibu it replaced, along with a longer wheelbase and overall length that help the cabin feel more open. The tradeoff is that it still trails some competitors in refinement, and some versions were criticized for lackluster acceleration and a cheaper-feeling interior.

37.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent amount of market flexibility if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Malibu reliable?

The 2025 Chevrolet Malibu’s later-run reputation is generally stronger than earlier Malibus, and the model is described as having a relatively strong reliability record compared with earlier versions. It also benefits from the final-generation improvements that made the car feel more polished and easier to live with.

For a used buyer, the main long-term ownership risk is that condition can vary widely by mileage and maintenance history, so a careful inspection matters more than the badge alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Chevrolet Malibu?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free status is only one part of the picture. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on wear items, interior condition, and how well the car has been maintained.

Because the Malibu is a value-oriented sedan, condition can make a bigger difference than trim level alone. If you find signs of neglect, it is usually better to keep shopping than to stretch for a marginal example.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Chevrolet Malibu?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 37.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,178 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.08% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 83.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,499, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Chevrolet Malibu's resale value?

The current average of $19,499 sits slightly below last year's $22,179.

That price movement suggests the Malibu has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help you as a buyer today. If you plan to resell later, the same trend means your future value will depend heavily on mileage, condition, and how well you buy in the first place.

For a seller, the upside is that a lower entry price can make the car easier to move in a value-focused segment. The downside is that softer market pricing can limit how much appreciation you can expect from a clean example.

Should I buy a 2025 Chevrolet Malibu or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 37.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.08% compared with last year.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version in this final-generation Malibu run and you value a roomy, practical sedan at a lower used price, the 2025 is the primary path to consider. If your main goal is to minimize purchase price, a nearby model year may be worth a look as long as you can find one with strong history and clean condition.
