How much does the 2025 Chevrolet Colorado cost?

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Colorado a good car?

The 2025 Chevrolet Colorado earns an expert rating of 7.8/10.

The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

The Colorado’s appeal starts with a right-sized crew cab layout that should fit in a garage and be easier to park in town, and it adds a powerful standard turbocharged engine, stylish design, easy-to-use technology, and impressive off-road capability. The trade-offs are that it may bring sticker shock for some shoppers, its fuel economy is described as poor, and its value for money is questioned. It also lacks a long-bed option, which limits its usefulness for some buyers.

With 36.8% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Colorado reliable?

The Colorado is presented as a strong entry in a crowded segment, and its standard powertrain is described as quick off the line with minimal lag and a transmission that shifts quickly and smoothly. That points to a truck that should feel straightforward and confident in everyday use.

Its standard turbocharged engine and eight-speed automatic are paired in a way that suits the midsize Colorado well, and the off-road-oriented versions add hardware that supports durability in rough conditions. The Colorado also includes a maintenance perk in the form of standard Chevy Safety Assist and standard Teen Driver technology, which can help with day-to-day ownership discipline.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the truck’s higher running costs and fuel economy may make it less forgiving over time than some rivals.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Chevrolet Colorado?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re looking at a truck that may have seen trail use or towing. Focus on tire wear, underbody condition, suspension components, and signs of hard use, since the Colorado is often bought for off-road capability and active-duty work.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: WT is the work-truck look with a black plastic grille, steel wheels, and minimal trim, while LT adds body-color door handles and mirrors plus nicer wheels. Trail Boss adds a two-inch factory suspension lift, 32-inch tires, skid plates, and black-plastic fender flares, while Z71 adds 32-inch tires, tow recovery hooks, and more body-color elements. ZR2 brings the most aggressive hardware and appearance, and the ZR2 Bison adds beadlock-capable wheels, a bed-mount spare tire carrier, stamped steel bumpers, and extra underbody protection.
• Powertrain: Every Colorado uses a 2.7-liter TurboMax four-cylinder with 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic. Four-wheel drive is optional on WT and LT, standard on Trail Boss, Z71 and ZR2, and the off-road models add selectable drive modes for tougher terrain.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist is standard and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, a following distance indicator and automatic high beams. Blind-zone steering assist, reverse automatic emergency braking and rear park assist are also standard, while rear pedestrian alert, trailering support for blind-zone steering assist, and a 360-degree camera system are optional.
• Infotainment: Every Colorado gets an 11.3-inch touchscreen, Google built-in software, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, voice recognition, and Alexa Built-In connectivity.
• Fuel efficiency: The base WT with rear-wheel drive is rated at 19 mpg city, 23 mpg highway and 20 mpg combined. Adding 4WD drops those figures to 17 mpg city, 21 mpg highway and 19 mpg combined, while the ZR2 and ZR2 Bison are rated as low as 17 mpg and 16 mpg in all driving scenarios, respectively.

Which 2025 Chevrolet Colorado trim should I buy?

The 2025 Chevrolet Colorado is offered in 5 trim levels: WT, LT, Trail Boss, Z71, ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• WT: This is the value starting point if you want the Colorado’s core capability and standard tech without paying for extra appearance or off-road hardware.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds nicer exterior details and more polished everyday appeal without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• Trail Boss: Choose this if you want the off-road-focused setup with the factory lift, skid plates, and 32-inch tires.
• Z71: This is the more balanced upgrade if you want stronger off-road hardware and a more upscale look without going all the way to the extreme models.
• ZR2: Pick this if you want the most serious off-road capability and the most distinctive hardware and styling in the lineup.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard across the lineup, and Teen Driver technology is standard on all Colorado models.

Should I buy a 2025 Chevrolet Colorado or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.10% compared with last year.
• It combines strong off-road capability with easy-to-use technology and a right-sized crew cab layout.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $36,237, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $38,624 average.
• It leans into a modern lifestyle-pickup identity with strong all-around capability.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It keeps the lineup simple with one powertrain and five trim levels.
• It adds a new Bronze Accent Package and mostly carries over unchanged.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current-market availability, updated pricing, and the Colorado’s core strengths, the 2025 is the primary path to consider. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2024 is the better price-sensitive alternative.
