Used 2025 BMW i4 for Sale near New York

How much does the 2025 BMW i4 cost?

Prices have softened 16.94% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 738 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 BMW i4 a good car?

Yes — the 2025 BMW i4 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

It stands out as an upscale electric car with a distinctive four-door sportback body, a rear hatch that adds surprising utility, and a driving character that’s described as enjoyable. It also brings subtle design updates inside and out, plus a new infotainment system and Plug & Charge convenience for this model year.

The main trade-offs are a polarizing design, difficult entry and exit, and a cramped back seat. Even so, it still works well if you want an EV that feels more premium and more engaging than purely practical.

37.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there’s meaningful room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 BMW i4 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The i4 is described as having top-notch reliability, and the expert evaluation also calls out its strong overall appeal as a well-executed EV. Its electric powertrain and modern tech package support that impression, and the 2025 model’s updates add convenience without changing the car’s core character.

The performance notes also point to a well-sorted EV setup, with strong efficiency from the single-motor version and easy one-pedal driving through B mode. On the ownership side, the Plug & Charge feature can simplify charging, and that kind of convenience tends to make day-to-day use feel less complicated.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the basic EV hardware and more about making sure the car’s electronics, charging behavior, and driver-assistance systems are working as intended.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 BMW i4?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been optioned heavily or used frequently on fast chargers. Focus on overall condition, charging performance, and whether the cabin tech and driver-assistance features operate cleanly.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The i4 is offered as single motor, rear-wheel drive (RWD) eDrive40, dual-motor, all-wheel drive (AWD) xDrive40, and M50 (performance-tuned dual-motor AWD). The eDrive40 is the most efficient and longest-range version, while the dual-motor models add speed and AWD traction.
• Powertrain: The eDrive40 uses a single motor with 335 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, plus an 81-kilowatt-hour battery pack. It’s the least powerful version, but it’s also the most efficient and provides the longest driving range.
• Safety package: Every i4 gets Active Driving Assistant with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, active blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. Automatic high-beam headlights, a driver monitoring system, and BMW Assist eCall are standard too. The Driving Assistance Package adds adaptive cruise control, while the Driving Assistance Professional Package adds Active Driving Assistant Pro and Extended Traffic Jam Assistant.
• Infotainment: The BMW Curved Display combines a 12.3-inch driver display with a 14.9-inch touchscreen, and the 2025 model upgrades to iDrive 8.5 with Quick Select. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and the system also adds Augmented View and Plug & Charge support.
• Range & charging: With the standard 18-inch wheels, the eDrive40 delivers 318 miles of range and 30 kWh/100 miles of efficiency. With the M Sport Package’s 19-inch wheels, those figures are 295 miles and 32 kWh/100 miles. A DC fast charge took 30 minutes to reach an 80% charge in testing.
• Battery health: As with any used EV, you should check battery state-of-health, review charging habits, and confirm whether the car spent most of its life on home charging or frequent DC fast charging. You should also verify how much of the battery warranty remains.

Which 2025 BMW i4 trim should I buy?

The 2025 BMW i4 is offered in 3 trim levels: eDrive40, xDrive40, and M50.

Here's the short version:

• eDrive40: This is the best-value choice if you want the longest range, the strongest efficiency, and traditional rear-wheel-drive character. It’s the least powerful version, but it still feels quick enough for everyday use and keeps the i4’s premium EV appeal intact.
• xDrive40: Choose this if you want dual-motor AWD traction and a more confident all-weather setup. It should make sense if you value added grip over maximum range.
• M50: This is the performance-tuned dual-motor AWD version, so it’s the one to consider if you want the most aggressive character in the lineup.

BMW’s Active Driving Assistant is standard on every trim, while the Driving Assistance Package and Driving Assistance Professional Package add more advanced driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 BMW i4?

The market looks selective rather than overheated, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 37.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 738 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.94% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $47,044, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 BMW i4's resale value?

The current average of $47,044 sits slightly below last year's $56,635.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than assuming the car will hold its original pricing power.

The i4’s premium positioning, strong tech, and broad appeal as an upscale EV should help support demand over time. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 BMW i4 safe?

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

BMW equips every i4 with Active Driving Assistant, which includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, active blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. Automatic high-beam headlights, a driver monitoring system, and BMW Assist eCall are standard as well.

A Driving Assistance Package adds adaptive cruise control, while the Driving Assistance Professional Package adds Active Driving Assistant Pro and Extended Traffic Jam Assistant. That package brings lane-centering assist, lane-change assist, evasive steering assist, and emergency stop assist, plus hands-free driving on limited-access highways at speeds under 40 mph.

One caveat from testing is that some driver aids can misread pavement scars or parked cars, so you should pay attention to how the systems behave in real-world driving.

Should I buy a 2025 BMW i4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 37.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.94% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 model year adds subtle design updates, a new infotainment system, and Plug & Charge convenience.

The bottom line: If you want the most up-to-date version of the i4’s tech and convenience features, the 2025 is the one to target. If your priority is simply getting into an i4 at the lowest possible price, a nearby model year may be worth a look, but the 2025’s combination of updated infotainment, strong satisfaction, and softer pricing makes it the cleaner choice for most shoppers.
