Used 2025 BMW i4 for Sale nearNew Brunswick, NJ

How much does the 2025 BMW i4 cost?

Prices have softened 17.06% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 749 listings available, which suggests you should have some room to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2025 BMW i4 a good car?

Yes — the 2025 BMW i4 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

It stands out as an upscale electric car with a distinctive four-door sportback body, a rear hatch that adds utility, and a driving character that’s meant to feel more engaging than purely practical. The trade-offs are clear: the design can be polarizing, entry and exit can be difficult, and the back seat is cramped.

The expert test drive notes also point to a few compromises, including a cabin that can feel a bit cold and technical, plus a radio interface that can be distracting to use through the touchscreen.

The model’s 33.2% good-or-great-deal share suggests there are still worthwhile listings to find if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 BMW i4 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The expert evaluation describes the i4 as having top-notch reliability and highlights its strong overall execution as an EV. It also notes that BMW’s engineering has turned the 4 Series Gran Coupe platform into a legitimately competitive electric car.

The performance notes reinforce that impression: the single-motor setup is efficient, delivers the longest driving range, and still feels satisfying in everyday driving. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the core EV hardware and more about making sure the car has been maintained and charged properly over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 BMW i4?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re looking at a higher-mileage example or one with multiple option packages. Focus on overall condition, charging behavior, tire wear, and whether the car’s technology and driver-assistance features operate as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes a single-motor, rear-wheel drive eDrive40, a dual-motor, all-wheel drive xDrive40, and the M50 performance-tuned dual-motor AWD. The eDrive40 is the most efficient and longest-range version, while the dual-motor models add speed and AWD traction.
• Powertrain: The eDrive40 uses a single motor with 335 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, plus an 81-kilowatt-hour battery pack. It’s the least powerful version, but it’s also the most efficient and the one with the longest driving range.
• Safety package: Every i4 gets Active Driving Assistant with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, active blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high-beam headlights, a driver monitoring system, and BMW Assist eCall. The Driving Assistance Package adds adaptive cruise control, while the Driving Assistance Professional Package adds Active Driving Assistant Pro and Extended Traffic Jam Assistant.
• Infotainment: The car uses a BMW Curved Display with a 12.3-inch driver display and a 14.9-inch touchscreen. It runs iDrive 8.5 with Quick Select, supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and adds Augmented View plus Plug & Charge convenience.
• Range & charging: With the standard 18-inch wheels, the eDrive40 is rated at 318 miles of range and 30 kWh/100 miles. With the 19-inch wheels, range drops to 295 miles and consumption rises to 32 kWh/100 miles. A DC fast-charge session took 30 minutes to reach an 80% charge.
• Battery health: Check the battery’s state of health, confirm how the car has typically been charged, and make sure the remaining battery warranty coverage still fits your ownership plans. A used EV that has spent most of its life on sensible home charging is generally easier to trust than one with a harder charging history.

Which 2025 BMW i4 trim should I buy?

The 2025 BMW i4 is offered in 3 trim levels: eDrive40, xDrive40, and M50.

Here's the short version:

• eDrive40: This is the best-value choice if you want the i4’s core strengths without paying for extra speed or AWD. It’s the most efficient version, offers the longest range, and still delivers the traditional rear-wheel-drive feel that suits the car well.
• xDrive40: Choose this if you want the added traction and stronger all-weather confidence of dual-motor AWD. It makes sense if you value the extra grip more than maximum efficiency.
• M50: This is the performance-tuned dual-motor AWD model, so it’s the one to consider if you want the most aggressive version of the i4.

BMW equips every i4 with Active Driving Assistant, and the Driving Assistance Package and Driving Assistance Professional Package add more capability if you want a richer safety and driver-assist setup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 BMW i4?

This looks like a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 749 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.06% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $46,878, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 BMW i4's resale value?

The current average of $46,878 sits slightly below last year's $56,519.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. For a future seller, that also means resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car’s equipment and battery have held up.

Because the i4 combines premium branding, strong technology, and broad appeal as an EV with real utility, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than neglected ones. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 BMW i4 safe?

The 2025 BMW i4 earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

BMW equips every i4 with Active Driving Assistant, which includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, active blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. Automatic high-beam headlights, a driver monitoring system, and BMW Assist eCall are standard as well.

A Driving Assistance Package adds adaptive cruise control, while the Driving Assistance Professional Package adds Active Driving Assistant Pro and Extended Traffic Jam Assistant. That package brings lane-centering assist, lane-change assist, evasive steering assist, and emergency stop assist, plus hands-free driving on limited-access highways at speeds under 40 mph.

The safety testing summary notes that crash-test ratings from NHTSA and IIHS were not available at the time of publication. It also flags some real-world quirks in the driver aids, including lane-keeping behavior that can misread pavement scars and automatic braking that can mistake parked cars for obstacles.

Should I buy a 2025 BMW i4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.06% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 model year brings a new infotainment system, Plug & Charge convenience, and subtle design updates inside and out.

The bottom line: If you want the most current version of the i4’s tech and convenience features, the 2025 is the one to target. If your priority is simply getting into an i4 at the lowest possible price, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2025’s softened pricing and strong inventory make it a sensible place to shop first.
