Used 2025 BMW X5 for Sale nearTuscaloosa, AL

How much does the 2025 BMW X5 cost?

Prices have softened 13.84% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,158 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 BMW X5 a good car?

The 2025 BMW X5 earns an 8.33/10 expert rating.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Technology, and Safety.

It fits well if you want a midsize luxury SUV with multiple powertrain options, strong handling, and a comfortable driving experience. The trade-offs are that it is not the strongest value compared with rivals, and advanced safety features are not standard.

With 37.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 BMW X5 reliable?

The 2025 BMW X5 is presented as an established model rather than a newly reinvented one, with a substantial update already in place for 2024. That matters because you are shopping a version that has had time to settle into BMW’s lineup.

Its powertrain lineup is broad, and the six-cylinder models are EPA-rated at 25 mpg combined, which can help keep day-to-day running costs in check. BMW also backs the X5 with a four-year/50,000-mile new-vehicle warranty, which is comparable to most rivals.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that higher trims and options can raise costs quickly, so condition and equipment history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 BMW X5?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-spec example with more equipment. Focus on overall condition, tire wear, and whether the vehicle has the features you want, since the X5’s equipment mix can vary a lot by trim and option package.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Base models come standard with 20-inch wheels and run-flat all-season tires, while an optional M Sport Package adds sportier front and rear bumpers plus darkened Shadowline exterior trim. The Silver Anniversary Edition adds Lime Rock Grey paint, Shadowline trim, and a sportier wheel design, but its unusual off-road package makes it less appealing if you want a straightforward luxury SUV.
• Powertrain: The lineup includes rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive six-cylinder models, a V8-powered M60i, and a plug-in hybrid with a larger electric motor and battery pack. The six-cylinder models are the efficiency sweet spot, while the V8 and plug-in hybrid trade economy for more power.
• Safety package: Standard Active Driving Assistant includes lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking, and forward collision warning, but not adaptive cruise control. For that, you need the Driving Assistance Professional Package, which adds Highway Assistant.
• Infotainment: The curved display pairs a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with a 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, and it includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. BMW Operating System 8, voice recognition, steering wheel controls, and gesture control are also part of the setup.
• Fuel efficiency: Six-cylinder X5 models are EPA-rated at 25 mpg combined, while the V8 M60i returns 19 mpg combined and the X5 M Competition is rated at 15 mpg combined. The plug-in hybrid can travel up to 39 miles on electricity alone.

Which 2025 BMW X5 trim should I buy?

The 2025 BMW X5 is offered in 5 trim levels: X5 sDrive40i, X5 xDrive40i, X5 xDrive50e, X5 M60i xDrive, X5 M Competition.

Here's the short version:

• X5 sDrive40i: This is the least expensive entry point and the best-value choice if you want the X5 experience without paying for extra power or all-wheel drive. It gives you the core BMW handling and comfort story at the lowest price.
• X5 xDrive40i: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds all-wheel drive while keeping the efficient six-cylinder setup. If you want the broadest balance of price, traction, and everyday usability, this is the one to target.
• X5 xDrive50e: Choose this if you want plug-in hybrid capability and the ability to drive on electricity for short trips. It suits you best if efficiency matters and you can take advantage of charging.
• X5 M60i xDrive: This is the pick if you want the strongest V8 performance short of the full M model. It is for buyers who care more about speed and power than value.
• X5 M Competition: This is the performance flagship, aimed at buyers who want maximum acceleration and the most aggressive setup in the lineup.

The standard safety package is solid, but adaptive cruise control requires an upgrade to the Driving Assistance Professional Package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 BMW X5?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 37.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,158 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.84% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 94.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $58,266, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 BMW X5's resale value?

The current average of $58,266 sits slightly below last year's $67,627.

That drop suggests the market has moved in buyers’ favor, which can help you negotiate more confidently today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on trim, mileage, and condition rather than just the badge alone.

If you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition, the X5’s broad appeal should help support demand later. But because prices have already softened, you should expect resale to be more sensitive to equipment and market timing than it was a year ago.

Is the 2025 BMW X5 safe?

The 2025 BMW X5 earned a Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and a four-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, with four-star ratings in frontal and rollover crash tests and five-star ratings in side crash tests.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard Active Driving Assistant includes lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking, and forward collision warning. Adaptive cruise control is not standard, and you need the Driving Assistance Professional Package to get Highway Assistant.

The standard Parking Assistant includes Reversing Assistant, while the optional Parking Assistance Professional Package adds Active Park Distance Control, a 360-degree camera system, and Maneuver Assistant.

Should I buy a 2025 BMW X5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 37.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.84% compared with last year.
• It adds a 25th-anniversary limited edition and carries forward the 2024 update.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $51,338, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $58,266 average.
• It remains a delight to drive with about 40 miles of electric-only range.

Consider the 2026 if:

• At $70,963, the 2026 costs more than the current year's $58,266 average.
• It offers five versions and broader choice across efficiency and performance.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of current pricing, strong safety, and a well-established update, the 2025 is the primary path to consider. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 is the smarter secondary path; if you want more configuration breadth and can spend more, the 2026 is the upgrade path.
