How much does the 2025 BMW M4 cost?

Prices have softened 3.83% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 357 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 BMW M4 a good car?

The 2025 BMW M4 earns an expert rating of 8.2/10.

The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

You get a car that is described as one of the best-driving BMWs money can buy, with the ability to feel comfortable when you want it and track-ready when you need it. The trade-offs are a high price and hit-and-miss tech, plus a cramped back seat. That makes the M4 a strong fit if you want a serious performance car that still works for everyday use. 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 BMW M4 reliable?

The 2025 BMW M4 is presented as a well-rounded performance car that can be comfortable for daily use while still delivering serious capability when you push it. Its performance hardware is substantial, including an adaptive suspension, an active differential, and strong brakes, which supports the sense that it is engineered for hard use.

The expert notes also point to a car that can be tailored to your preferences through adjustable powertrain, steering, braking, exhaust, and suspension settings. That flexibility is a plus for long-term ownership because you can dial the car toward comfort or performance as needed. The first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house, which helps soften early ownership costs.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a high-performance car like this can become expensive to keep in top shape if it has been driven hard or poorly maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 BMW M4?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a car with this level of performance and available options. Focus on signs of hard use, wheel or front-end damage, and whether the car’s equipment matches the listing. If you are considering a convertible, pay extra attention to top operation and cabin wear.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The coupe is offered in base, M4 Competition, and M4 Competition xDrive specifications, while the convertible is available only as the Competition xDrive. The base coupe is the least expensive way in and is the one to consider if you want a manual transmission.
• Powertrain: The M4 uses a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine. Output ranges from 473 horsepower to 523 hp depending on transmission choice, and the Competition xDrive setup adds the most power and the quickest acceleration.
• Safety package: Every M4 has Active Driving Assistant, which includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and blind-spot monitoring. Active Guard collision preparation and driver monitoring are also standard. The Driving Assistance Professional package adds evasive steering assist, lane centering assist, lane change assist, emergency stop assist, and Traffic Jam Assist.
• Infotainment: The M4 uses BMW Operating System 8.5 with a dual-screen Curved Display. Wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, SiriusXM 360L, cloud-based navigation, and remote access capability are standard.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA says you should expect 18 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2025 BMW M4 trim should I buy?

The 2025 BMW M4 is offered in 3 trim levels: M4, M4 Competition, M4 Competition xDrive.

Here's the short version:

• M4: This is the best-value choice if you want the manual transmission and the least expensive path into the model. It gives you the core M4 experience without stepping up to the pricier automatic-only versions.
• M4 Competition: This trim adds more power and quicker acceleration, but it is automatic only. It makes sense if you want a sharper performance edge and do not need a manual.
• M4 Competition xDrive: This is the quickest and most capable all-weather version, with the highest output and xDrive all-wheel drive. It is the right pick if you want maximum performance and traction.

The Driving Assistance Professional package adds more advanced driver aids, but it is not standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 BMW M4?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 357 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.83% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $86,234, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 BMW M4's resale value?

The current average of $89,328 sits slightly below last year's $92,888.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it means you should expect strong but not immune-to-depreciation resale behavior, especially if the car is optioned heavily or has higher mileage.

The M4’s desirability, performance reputation, and broad configuration range should help it hold interest better than many mainstream cars. Even so, the current trend shows that timing and condition will matter if you want to maximize resale later.

Is the 2025 BMW M4 safe?

The 2025 BMW M4 earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Every BMW M4 has Active Driving Assistant, which includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and blind-spot monitoring. Active Guard collision preparation and driver monitoring are also standard, along with BMW Assist e-Call for emergency services.

The Driving Assistance Professional package adds evasive steering assist, lane centering assist, lane change assist, emergency stop assist, and Traffic Jam Assist. That package gives you a more advanced safety and convenience setup, but it is an option rather than standard equipment.

The surround-view camera system and rear cross-traffic monitoring are especially useful because visibility can be compromised with the top up. One caveat is that Traffic Jam Assist can be overly eager about asking you to pay attention.

Should I buy a 2025 BMW M4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.83% compared with last year.
• The 2025 brings a light detail refresh, a slight power bump for Competition xDrive models, and a new infotainment operating system.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of this M4 with updated details and the latest tech, the 2025 is the one to target. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth considering, but the 2025’s softened pricing and strong inventory make it a sensible place to start.
