Is the 2025 BMW 7 Series a good car?

The 2025 BMW 7 Series stands out as a full-size luxury sedan that leans hard into technology and powertrain variety. BMW’s flagship has long been known for pushing features forward, and this generation continues that pattern with a lineup that includes 48-volt mild hybrids, a plug-in hybrid, and a zero-emission all-electric model.

It also brings a distinctly upscale cabin, with a 12.3-inch digital cluster, a 14.9-inch curved infotainment display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, over-the-air updates, in-car gaming, a standard head-up display, quad-zone climate control, front seat massagers, and a panoramic glass roof. That makes it a strong fit if you want a luxury sedan with a deep feature set and multiple powertrain choices.

The market also shows 35.9% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 BMW 7 Series reliable?

The 2025 BMW 7 Series stands out as a full-size luxury sedan that leans hard into technology and powertrain variety. BMW’s flagship has long been known for pushing features forward, and this generation continues that pattern with a lineup that includes 48-volt mild hybrids, a plug-in hybrid, and a zero-emission all-electric model.

For used buyers, that means you should expect a lot of advanced systems to evaluate carefully over time.

Long-term ownership risk is tied to the complexity of the car’s technology and hardware, so a thorough pre-purchase inspection matters more than usual.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 BMW 7 Series?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the car’s equipment and service records line up with the listing. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the electronics, suspension, and any powertrain-specific issues, since this is a highly complex luxury sedan.

Focus on overall condition, too, because a car with this much technology can be expensive to refresh if previous owners skipped maintenance or repairs.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 BMW 7 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 613 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.17% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $79,940, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 BMW 7 Series's resale value?

The current average of $79,940 sits slightly below last year's $100,135.

That price drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For a future seller, though, it also means resale upside may be more limited if depreciation continues at a similar pace.

If you plan to keep the car for a while, the current pricing can work in your favor. If you expect to resell soon, you should be realistic about how much value this segment can shed.

Should I buy a 2025 BMW 7 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.17% compared with last year.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $65,914, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $79,940 average.
• It adds the 750e plug-in hybrid and keeps a spacious, luxurious cabin.

The bottom line: choose the 2025 if you want the stronger current-market mix of inventory, pricing, and clean listings. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2024 is the better value path, especially if you’re comfortable giving up some of the newer-year pricing structure.
