How much does the 2025 BMW 5 Series cost?

Prices have softened 13.00% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,035 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2025 BMW 5 Series a good car?

The 2025 BMW 5 Series stands out as a midsize luxury sedan that blends strong performance with a lot of technology and a noticeably larger footprint than before. The cabin reflects that growth with more passenger room, and the styling is completely new and optimized for aerodynamic efficiency. For buyers who want a traditional gas-powered sedan, the lineup includes the 530i and 540i, while the available i5 expands the range with fully electric versions.

Inside, the curved display gives the cabin a modern feel, but the latest iDrive system can be complex to learn and the lack of touch controls may frustrate some shoppers. If you want a roomy, tech-forward luxury sedan and can live with a learning curve, this one fits that brief well. 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 BMW 5 Series reliable?

The 2025 BMW 5 Series is presented as a well-equipped luxury sedan with a wide range of active-safety features, though some of the most desirable systems are extra-cost options. Its newer design and technology-heavy cabin suggest a modern ownership experience, but also one that may require more patience as you learn the controls.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a complex, feature-rich luxury sedan can be more expensive to keep in top shape if you skip careful maintenance and inspection.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 BMW 5 Series?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the car’s equipment matches the listing, especially if you want the more desirable driver-assistance features. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the electronics, infotainment system, and interior condition, since this model leans heavily on technology. It also makes sense to confirm that the trunk and cabin space meet your needs, because the added size does not translate into more cargo room.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 BMW 5 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,035 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.00% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 95.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $48,380, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 BMW 5 Series's resale value?

The current average of $48,380 sits slightly below last year's $55,606.

That price drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment because the model has already moved off its earlier price peak. If you maintain the car well and keep desirable features intact, you should be in a better position when it’s time to sell.

Should I buy a 2025 BMW 5 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.00% compared with last year.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $43,598, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $48,380 average.
• It emphasizes comfort and a calm ride.

Consider the 2026 if:

• At $57,955, the 2026 costs more than the current year's $48,380 average.
• It offers a more balanced blend of luxury, technology, and driving enjoyment.

The bottom line: the 2025 is the best primary path if you want the newest version with strong inventory and a meaningful price drop. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2024 is the smarter value play, while the 2026 makes sense if you want to spend more for a more polished all-around package.
