How much does the 2025 BMW 3 Series cost?

Prices have softened 10.65% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,718 listings available, which suggests you should have a solid range of choices.

Is the 2025 BMW 3 Series a good car?

The 2025 BMW 3 Series earns an 8/10 expert rating, and the model scores 9/10 across Technology and Safety.

The 2025 BMW 3 Series remains appealing because it still delivers the driving enjoyment that made the nameplate a benchmark, while also offering remarkably advanced technology for a car near the end of its current generation. The standard 330i with the M Sport Package is described as surprisingly satisfying, so you do not need to move up to the more powerful versions to get a rewarding experience.

The main trade-offs are that the interior is snug and front seat comfort can be an issue on longer trips or in hot weather. Technology is easy to use, but the naming can be confusing and inconsistent.

With 38.1% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2025 BMW 3 Series reliable?

The 2025 BMW 3 Series is presented as a polished, well-rounded luxury sedan that combines strong safety ratings with advanced technology and a refined overall feel. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that it is enjoyable to drive without needing to step up to the highest-performance versions.

Its powertrain is described as a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, and the engine is praised for revving smoothly, sounding good, and offering plenty of power in most driving situations. The expert also notes that BMW includes three years of complimentary scheduled maintenance, which helps soften ownership costs early on.

For used buyers, the bigger long-term risk is that this is still a complex premium sedan, so condition and maintenance history matter more than they would on a simpler mainstream car.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 BMW 3 Series?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a car with optional packages or higher-mileage use. Focus on cabin condition, seat comfort, and whether the technology and driver-assistance features work the way you expect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: BMW offers the 3 Series as the 330i, 330i xDrive, M340i xDrive, and M3. The standard 330i with the M Sport Package gets minor styling changes, different wheels, a sport-tuned suspension, and variable sport steering, while the test vehicle also had leather upholstery, a Harman Kardon surround-sound system, and the Parking Assistance, Driving Assistance Professional, and Premium Packages.
• Powertrain: The 330i uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, 255 horsepower, and 295 pound-feet of torque. The engine is described as smooth, strong, and efficient, with an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive unless you choose xDrive.
• Safety package: The Active Protection System prepares the car and occupants for an imminent collision, while Active Guard includes forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking at city speeds. Active Driving Assistant adds pedestrian detection and lane departure warning, and the Driving Assistance Professional Package adds Steering Assistant, Lane Change Assistant, Evasion Assistant, and Extended Traffic Jam Assistant.
• Infotainment: The 2025 model uses BMW Operating System 8.5 with a 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, iDrive controls, and BMW Intelligent Assistant voice recognition. Wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto are standard, and the car also supports over-the-air software updates.
• Fuel efficiency: The official EPA fuel economy rating is 31 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2025 BMW 3 Series trim should I buy?

The 2025 BMW 3 Series is offered in 4 trim levels: 330i, 330i xDrive, M340i xDrive, and M3.

Here's the short version:

• 330i: This is the best-value choice if you want the core 3 Series experience. It already delivers the satisfying driving character, strong efficiency, and advanced tech that make the car appealing, and the expert review says you do not need to move up to the more powerful versions to get a rewarding experience.
• 330i xDrive: Choose this if you want the same basic formula with all-wheel drive. It makes sense if you value added traction over the rear-wheel-drive setup.
• M340i xDrive: This is the step-up choice if you want more power and performance without going all the way to the M3. The lineup description makes clear that it sits above the 330i models in power and performance.
• M3: Pick this only if you want the top performance model. It is the most aggressive version in the lineup and is aimed at buyers who want the highest level of speed and capability.

The safety-package setup is confusing, so verify exactly which driver-assistance features are included on any used example before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 BMW 3 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,718 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.65% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 94.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $40,156, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 BMW 3 Series's resale value?

The current average of $40,424 sits slightly below last year's $45,240.

That decline suggests the market has moved in your favor if you are buying now, but it also means a future seller may face softer resale conditions than owners saw a year ago. The current pricing trend points to a model that is still desirable, but not immune to broader depreciation as it ages.

If you plan to sell later, the strongest resale position will likely come from a well-kept example with clean history, desirable equipment, and strong maintenance records. A used 3 Series that presents well and has the right options should hold up better than one with visible wear or missing features.

Is the 2025 BMW 3 Series safe?

The 2025 BMW 3 Series earns the highest possible crash-test ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, with five-star ratings across the board, including rollover resistance.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

BMW’s safety setup is centered around the Active Protection System, Active Guard, and Active Driving Assistant, though the feature packaging is confusing and some items appear in multiple places. The Driving Assistance Professional Package adds Steering Assistant, Lane Change Assistant, Evasion Assistant, and Extended Traffic Jam Assistant, while the hands-on Assisted Driving technology works well on freeways.

The main caveat is that the IIHS had not subjected the 2025 3 Series to its newest crash tests at the time of publication, so it was ineligible for a Top Safety Pick award.

Should I buy a 2025 BMW 3 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.65% compared with last year.
• The expert review highlights that minor updates and refinements make this version better than ever, while still keeping the 3 Series enjoyable to drive.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the right pick if you want the most refined version of this generation with strong tech, safety, and driving enjoyment. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still make sense, but the 2025 gives you a compelling mix of updated equipment and softened pricing.
