How much does the 2025 BMW 2 Series cost?

Prices have softened 17.14% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,572 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 BMW 2 Series a good car?

The 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe earns a 6.33/10 expert rating.

The model scores 7/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Cost effectiveness.

It is positioned as a relatively affordable way into BMW ownership, and the redesign adds more power and technology while keeping standard all-wheel drive and useful cargo space. That makes it a strong fit if you want an entry-level luxury sedan with a sporty feel and everyday practicality.

The trade-offs are clear: the styling is uninspired, the technology is unintuitive, and the ride quality is firm. Those compromises matter most if you value easy-to-use controls or a softer commute over sharper driving character.

With 39.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 BMW 2 Series reliable?

The 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is presented as a well-sorted redesign with standard all-wheel drive and a broad set of modern features, which supports confidence in day-to-day use. The expert summary also emphasizes that it makes only a few sacrifices on the sharp end of performance, suggesting a car that should feel mechanically polished rather than compromised.

The performance notes point to quick, smooth gear changes, predictable low-speed behavior, and brakes that stop the car very quickly without fading under heavy use. That kind of behavior is a good sign for long-term ownership because it suggests the core hardware is working without obvious rough edges.

The cost-effectiveness notes also point to a fuel-economy leader in the lineup, which can help keep running costs in check. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a sporty, technology-heavy luxury sedan can become expensive if you need repairs or want to keep it feeling fresh over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 BMW 2 Series?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and verify that the car’s equipment matches the listing, especially if you are comparing cars with different option packages. A pre-purchase inspection is worth prioritizing on a used luxury model like this, since you want to confirm that the electronics, driver-assistance features, and ride quality all feel as they should.

Pay close attention to signs of hard use in the cabin and suspension, since the car is tuned for a firmer, sportier feel. If you are shopping a higher-spec example, make sure the added equipment is actually present and functioning.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin design is more in line with BMW’s current look and feel, and the M235 xDrive adds sportier touches such as a sport steering wheel, M Division-inspired interior accents, and available sport front seats. The base setup is more straightforward, so you should compare equipment carefully if you want the more premium-feeling version.
• Powertrain: The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder comes in 241-horsepower 228 xDrive form and 312-horsepower M235 xDrive form. Both use a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, and all-wheel drive is standard.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, front and rear parking proximity sensors, and a semi-automated parking system. The optional Driving Assistant Professional package adds adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-change assist, evasive steering assist, and traffic jam assist.
• Infotainment: Every model gets a 10.7-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, and a Harman Kardon premium sound system. Over-the-air software updates are included, and a 12.3-inch customizable instrument panel plus a head-up display are available with the Technology package.
• Fuel efficiency: The 228 xDrive is rated at 26 mpg city, 38 mpg highway, and 30 mpg combined, while the M235 xDrive is rated at 24 mpg city, 33 mpg highway, and 27 mpg combined.

Which 2025 BMW 2 Series trim should I buy?

The 2025 BMW 2 Series is offered in 2 trim levels: 228 xDrive Gran Coupe and M235 xDrive Gran Coupe.

Here's the short version:

• 228 xDrive Gran Coupe: This is the better-value choice if you want the entry point into the lineup with standard all-wheel drive, strong fuel economy, and the core luxury-tech features already included. It gives you the most affordable path into the redesigned Gran Coupe without giving up the essentials.
• M235 xDrive Gran Coupe: This is the one to choose if you want the sharper performance story, with 312 horsepower, upgraded brakes, a rear spoiler, unique interior trim, sport seats, and a sport steering wheel. It is the better pick if you care more about driving feel than keeping the price down.

The optional Driving Assistant Professional package is the safety add-on to look for if you want the fullest driver-assistance suite.

• Inventory: There are 1,572 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.14% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $36,782, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 BMW 2 Series's resale value?

The current average of $36,794 sits slightly below last year's $44,405.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. If you plan to resell later, the softer current pricing may limit how much depreciation pain you feel from here, especially if you buy near the low end of the range.

For a future seller, the key is to buy carefully and keep the car in strong condition so you are not competing from a weak starting point. A well-optioned example with clean history and desirable equipment should be easier to move than a neglected one.

Should I buy a 2025 BMW 2 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.14% compared with last year.
• The redesigned model adds more power and technology while keeping standard all-wheel drive and a sporty driving character.

The bottom line: If you want the newer redesign with more power, more tech, and standard AWD, the 2025 is the better path. If your priority is simply getting into the model at the lowest possible price, a nearby year may be worth considering, but you should expect to give up some of the 2025’s updated hardware and features.
