Is the 2025 Audi Q5 a good car?

The 2025 Audi Q5 earns an expert rating of 7.17/10.

The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

The Q5’s redesign gives you Audi’s current design language and tech suite, and the overview frames it as a compact luxury SUV aimed at buyers who want a refined, user-friendly experience without a steep learning curve. It also leans on comfort, standard all-wheel drive, and easy-to-use technology, which makes it appealing if you value everyday polish over flash.

The trade-offs are clear: the design may be polarizing, the transmission can be irritating, and the base price is high. That means you’re getting a strong all-around luxury SUV, but not one that clearly dominates the segment.

Good and great deals percentage: 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Audi Q5 reliable?

The 2025 Audi Q5 is presented as a refined, well-equipped SUV with standard all-wheel drive and a premium-feeling cabin, which supports its case as a solid everyday luxury choice. The expert review also points to a balanced chassis tune and capable road manners, suggesting it should feel composed in normal use.

From a dependability standpoint, the performance notes highlight a standard seven-speed dual-clutch automatic and Quattro all-wheel drive, along with suspension tuning that prioritizes comfort and control. The cost-effectiveness notes also show a four-year/50,000-mile new vehicle warranty and equivalent powertrain coverage, which helps reduce early ownership exposure.

Audi’s first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a premium, tech-heavy SUV can become expensive to own if you’re buying one that’s been neglected or driven hard.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Audi Q5?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 97.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and verify that the specific vehicle you’re considering has a clean service record. A pre-purchase inspection is especially worthwhile on a luxury SUV with a dual-clutch transmission and a lot of electronic equipment, since those are the kinds of systems you want checked before you commit. Focus on overall condition, interior wear, and whether the tech and driver-assistance features work as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige are the trim levels. The base Premium skips LED Headlights Plus, while Premium Plus and Prestige add that feature, and Prestige also gets the passenger touchscreen.
• Powertrain: The base Q5 uses a 2.0-liter turbo-four with 268 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, while the SQ5 uses a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 with 362 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. All models use a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic and Quattro all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assist features include adaptive cruise control, active front assist with automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, swerve and turn aids, lane departure warning, parking sensors, automatic high beams, blind spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, and exit alert. Premium Plus adds a 360-degree camera system and adaptive cruise assist.
• Infotainment: Standard equipment includes an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch central touchscreen, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a cooled wireless charging pad. Premium Plus adds four USB-C ports and a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system, while Prestige adds a 10.9-inch passenger touchscreen.
• Fuel efficiency: Audi estimates 25 mpg combined for the Q5 and 22 mpg combined for the SQ5.

Which 2025 Audi Q5 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Audi Q5 is offered in 3 trim levels: Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• Premium: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Q5 experience with standard all-wheel drive, the dual-clutch transmission, wireless smartphone integration, and the full base safety suite. It makes sense if you want the Q5’s fundamentals at the lowest price, but it leaves out some of the nicer lighting and convenience upgrades.
• Premium Plus: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the 360-degree camera system, adaptive cruise assist, four USB-C ports, and the upgraded Bang & Olufsen audio system. If you want the most useful mix of comfort, tech, and convenience without jumping to the top trim, this is the one to target.
• Prestige: This is the most feature-rich version, adding the passenger touchscreen and available air suspension. It suits you best if you want the most upscale Q5 experience and are willing to pay for it.

Premium Plus and Prestige also get LED Headlights Plus, and Prestige adds the passenger touchscreen.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Audi Q5?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it rewards comparison shopping more than impulse buying.

• Deal availability: 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,206 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.70% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 97.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $44,009, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Audi Q5's resale value?

The current average of $44,009 sits slightly below last year's $47,170.

That price movement suggests the Q5 has softened enough to help you buy more carefully today. If you’re planning to resell later, the current market gives you a decent entry point, but you should still expect depreciation to remain a factor because the model sits in a competitive luxury segment.

For a future seller, the upside is that a well-kept Q5 with desirable equipment should remain appealing to shoppers who want a premium badge and strong standard content. The downside is that higher original pricing can make resale more sensitive to mileage, condition, and trim choice.

Is the 2025 Audi Q5 safe?

The 2025 Audi Q5 was just reaching showrooms at press time, so crash-test ratings from IIHS and NHTSA were not available.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance features include adaptive cruise control, active front assist with automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, swerve and turn aids, lane departure warning, parking sensors, automatic high beams, blind spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, and exit alert. Premium Plus adds a 360-degree camera system and adaptive cruise assist, which gives you a more advanced version of the standard cruise setup.

Should I buy a 2025 Audi Q5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 97.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.70% compared with last year.
• The redesign brings Audi’s current design language and tech suite.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds a refreshed MMI system and standard scheduled maintenance.

The bottom line: Choose the 2025 if you want the redesigned Q5 at a softer price and are comfortable shopping carefully within a broad inventory. If you’re more price-sensitive and want the newest updates, the 2026 is the better path to compare before you buy.
