CarGurus Analysis: 2024 Volvo XC60
Summary
With 171 currently listed for sale and an average price of $38,667, 83.0% of 2024 Volvo XC60 listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2024 Volvo XC60 5 / 5 stars.

Why it stands out
The 2024 Volvo XC60 stands out as a premium compact crossover that leans heavily on Volvo’s long-running strengths: safety, clean Scandinavian design, and a well-equipped cabin. It is a five-passenger SUV with standard safety tech and luxurious amenities, and its appeal is rooted as much in its understated style as in its reputation for protection. Some shoppers may find the design dated, but others will see it as classic and timeless.
For 2024, the XC60’s lineup includes fuel-efficient four-cylinder powertrains, and the model also offers a plug-in hybrid. The 2024 model year returns to standard all-wheel drive, while the mid-level B6 powertrain is eliminated. The XC60 Black Edition also joins the lineup, exclusive to the top-end Ultimate trim, with Onyx Black paint, 21-inch gloss black alloy wheels, a crystal gear shift knob by Orrefors, and other black exterior and interior details.
Inside, the XC60 continues to emphasize modern technology and comfort. Standard equipment includes a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, Thor’s Hammer LED headlights, and a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Buyers can also find available features such as heated front seats, Nappa leather seats, a premium sound system, air suspension, Pilot Assist with adaptive cruise control and steer assist, massaging seats, blind spot monitoring, and lane keep assist. Its main drawbacks are not hard to spot, either: the XC60 can be pricey, and the rear-seat legroom is tight.

How much does the 2024 Volvo XC60 cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $38,158 |
| Year-Round Low | $37,463 |
| Year-Round High | $41,198 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $41,177 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −7.33% |
Prices have softened 7.33% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 2,433 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.
Is the 2024 Volvo XC60 a good car?
Yes — the 2024 Volvo XC60 earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. The XC60 stands out as a premium compact crossover with standard safety tech, a well-equipped cabin, and a five-passenger layout. Its appeal is rooted in safety, clean Scandinavian design, and a luxury-oriented interior, while its understated styling may feel classic to you if you prefer a more restrained look. 37.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2024 Volvo XC60 reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The XC60’s reputation is built around safety, standard safety technology, and a premium cabin that emphasizes comfort and usability. You also get a model that leans on Volvo’s long-running strengths rather than novelty, which can be reassuring if you want a familiar ownership experience. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is paying too much for a vehicle that can be pricey to begin with, so condition and maintenance history matter.
What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Volvo XC60?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a history report and verify that the vehicle’s condition matches the listing photos and description. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with premium options. Focus on wear items, cabin condition, and how well the technology and comfort features operate.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Volvo XC60?
This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.
- Deal availability: 37.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 2,433 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.33% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 91.7% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $37,463, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2024 Volvo XC60's resale value?
The current average of $38,158 sits slightly below last year's $41,177.
That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also temper near-term resale upside. If you plan to sell later, the XC60’s premium positioning and strong owner satisfaction can help support demand, especially if you keep the vehicle in clean condition and maintain it well. The softer pricing trend means future resale will likely depend more on mileage, condition, and equipment than on broad market momentum.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2024 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2024 if:
- 37.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.33% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $32,972, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $38,158 average.
- It offers a compelling plug-in hybrid setup with electric-only driving and gasoline backup.
The bottom line: If you want the newer year with stronger market availability and a broad premium appeal, the 2024 is the better default choice. If your priority is saving money and you specifically want the plug-in hybrid angle, the 2023 is the more price-sensitive path.
