Is the 2024 Volkswagen Taos a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Volkswagen Taos earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. The Taos stands out as one of the roomiest entries in the subcompact SUV class, and that extra size translates directly into passenger comfort. It also gives you a higher seating position and practical utility without forcing you into a larger SUV, while the cabin adds useful everyday features like a digital driver display on every trim. With 39.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2024 Volkswagen Taos reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Taos is described as practical and well-equipped, with a more complete safety suite and a cabin that emphasizes comfort and usability. It also benefits from a conventional automatic in front-wheel-drive form, which may appeal if you want a simpler everyday driving experience. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure you choose a well-maintained example, especially if you want to avoid the drivability concerns tied to some all-wheel-drive versions.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Volkswagen Taos?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report so you can confirm the car’s background and spot any prior damage or title issues. Prioritize a thorough test drive and inspection, especially if you’re considering an all-wheel-drive model, and pay close attention to transmission behavior, cabin condition, and how well the infotainment system works. Focus on overall maintenance history and wear items so you can separate a clean, well-kept Taos from one that has been used hard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Volkswagen Taos?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 39.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,264 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.06% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,383, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Volkswagen Taos's resale value?

The current average of $20,917 sits slightly below last year's $22,267.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. If you plan to sell later, the current pricing trend means your future resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle is equipped. A clean history and strong maintenance record should matter more when the market is already showing softer pricing.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Volkswagen Taos or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 39.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.06% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $20,699, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $20,917 average.
• It adds more standard safety features and equipment.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around shopping case, the 2024 is the better primary target because it combines a softer price trend with strong inventory quality and high owner satisfaction. If your main goal is to spend a little less, the 2023 is the secondary path worth considering, especially if you find one in excellent condition with the equipment you want.
