Used 2024 Toyota Tacoma for Sale nearPhoenix, AZ

How much does the 2024 Toyota Tacoma cost?

Prices have softened 2.20% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 8,461 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma a good car?

Yes — 4.8/5 from owners, and the expert rating is 7.8/10. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

The 2024 Tacoma gives you a ground-up redesign, a new platform, and a turbocharged four-cylinder lineup, so you’re shopping a much more modern truck than the outgoing generation. It still leans into the Tacoma formula: durability, off-road ability, and standard driver-assistance tech.

The trade-offs are clear, though. The cabin can be noisy, the manual-adjust seats can be troublesome, and the interior remains more functional than upscale even in the top trim.

For buyers who want a midsize truck that prioritizes capability and long-term usefulness over luxury, that’s a strong fit. 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Tacoma is built around Toyota’s reputation for longevity, and the redesign keeps that core identity intact while adding a newer platform and updated hardware. The expert review also points to a more modern mechanical foundation, with a turbocharged engine lineup and revised steering that improves the truck’s feel.

On the dependability side, the performance notes say the eight-speed automatic works well, with smooth shifts and no delay changing gears at highway speeds. The cost-effectiveness notes also emphasize Toyota’s reputation for longevity.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the truck’s basic durability and more about choosing one that has been maintained well and hasn’t been abused off-road or in hard work.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Toyota Tacoma?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has been used for towing, trail driving, or heavy commuting. Focus on cabin condition, seat operation, and how the truck feels over bumps and at low speeds, since those are the areas where the review highlights the biggest compromises.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SR uses 17-inch steel wheels, while most trims move to 17-inch alloys and TRD Sport and Limited get 18-inch alloys. The cabin is more function-first than plush, and even the Limited trim still emphasizes utility over softness.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder is tuned for 278 hp and 317 lb-ft on most trims, while the base SR gets 228 hp and 243 lb-ft. Rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive are both available, and the eight-speed automatic is the main transmission.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard and includes Lane Tracing Assist, lane-departure alert with steering assist, Proactive Driving Assist, road-sign assist, and an emergency stop system. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on all but the base trim, where it can be added as part of a package.
• Infotainment: The standard screen is 8 inches, and higher trims get a 14-inch center display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and Toyota’s Audio Multimedia system is responsive and legible.
• Fuel efficiency: The least-efficient version is expected to get 20 mpg combined, with up to 21 mpg combined for 4WD with the automatic and 23 mpg combined with FWD.

Which 2024 Toyota Tacoma trim should I buy?

The 2024 Toyota Tacoma is offered in 6 trim levels: SR, SR5, TRD Pre-Runner, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• SR: This is the entry point, and it gives you the new Tacoma platform, standard turbocharged power, and the core safety and tech foundation. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the redesign, but it’s also the trim where some equipment gaps are most noticeable.
• SR5: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it adds more everyday usability without pushing you into the pricier specialty trims. It’s a smart middle ground if you want the new-generation Tacoma experience without paying for extra off-road or luxury content.
• TRD Pre-Runner: This trim keeps the Tacoma’s rugged character while staying focused on truck utility. It’s a good fit if you want a more specialized look and feel without moving all the way into the off-road-oriented trims.
• TRD Sport: This trim adds sport-tuned shocks and 18-inch alloy wheels, so it’s the better pick if you want a more road-focused setup and a slightly more upscale appearance.
• TRD Off-Road: This is the trim to choose if you care most about trail use, since it gets monotube Bilstein shocks and leans hardest into the Tacoma’s off-road identity.
• Limited: This is the most comfort-oriented gas trim, with heated and ventilated SofTex-trimmed seats and an available adaptive variable suspension. It suits you best if you want the most polished daily-driver version of the Tacoma.

Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on all but the base trim, where it can be added as part of a package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Toyota Tacoma?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the right truck.

• Deal availability: 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 8,461 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.20% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $37,876, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma's resale value?

The current average of $38,057 sits slightly below last year's $38,913.

That tells you the market has eased a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may also mean sellers need to price more carefully. If you plan to resell later, the Tacoma’s strong reputation and broad shopper appeal should help support demand.

The current price trend also suggests the truck is not in a runaway appreciation phase, so future resale will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim desirability. Well-kept examples should remain easier to move than neglected ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma safe?

The Tacoma still comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which now includes Lane Tracing Assist, lane-departure alert with steering assist, Proactive Driving Assist, road-sign assist, and an emergency stop system. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on all but the base trim, where it can be added as part of a package.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

That standard driver-assistance suite is a major strength, especially because it brings more active features than before and helps the truck feel more modern. The main caveat is that the base trim does not get blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert as standard equipment.

Should I buy a 2024 Toyota Tacoma or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.20% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 brings a ground-up redesign, a new platform, and standard advanced driver-assistance tech.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $35,750, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $38,057 average.
• It remains a familiar, rugged Tacoma with a strong reputation for reliability.

The bottom line: If you want the newer platform, updated tech, and stronger standard safety content, the 2024 is the better long-term pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2023 is the more budget-friendly path.
