How much does the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser cost?

Prices have softened 5.79% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 940 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

It stands out as the return of Toyota’s original SUV to the United States, and it arrives as an all-new model for 2024. The appeal is clear if you want a heritage-rich SUV that blends retro styling with modern comfort and convenience, plus strong off-road ability.

The main trade-offs are also clear: it has no option for a third row, and it costs more than competitors. Those compromises matter most if you need maximum passenger flexibility or are shopping strictly on price.

With 31.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to find value if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Land Cruiser is positioned as a focused SUV with strong capability and modern amenities, and its hybrid powertrain is described as delivering substantial output with standard full-time 4WD. The expert review also highlights its robust off-road hardware, including locking differentials and a two-speed transfer case, which supports confidence in its mechanical setup.

Toyota’s i-Force MAX hybrid system pairs a turbocharged four-cylinder engine with an electric motor, and the review describes the transmission and off-road systems as unobtrusive and effective in demanding terrain. The cost-effectiveness notes also point to broad accessory support, which can help you tailor ownership to your needs.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is paying a premium for a vehicle that is still relatively new to the market, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has seen trail use or heavy towing. Focus on underbody condition, wheel and tire wear, and signs of off-road damage or incomplete repairs. Because this model is built around capability, you want to verify that its hardware and cabin features are all functioning as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base 1958 trim uses cloth seats and the simpler 8-inch infotainment setup, while the middle trim upgrades to SofTex seating and a 10-speaker sound system. The top trim adds real leather, a roof rack, a front skid plate, mudflaps, and other off-roader gear, so base-trim shoppers should be aware of the feature gap.
• Powertrain: The Land Cruiser uses Toyota’s i-Force MAX hybrid powertrain with a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a 1.87-kWh battery pack, and a 48-hp electric motor for 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. It also has an eight-speed automatic transmission, standard full-time 4WD, and an electronically controlled two-speed transfer case with high and low range.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, with adaptive cruise control, lane-departure alert, lane-tracing assist, automatic high beams, road-sign assist, and Proactive Driving Assist. The Premium Package adds lane-keep assist, front cross-traffic alert, and traffic jam assist to the middle trim, while those features are standard on the First Edition.
• Infotainment: The Land Cruiser comes with a 12.3-inch center touchscreen on the higher trims, while the base 1958 uses an 8-inch display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with two USB-C ports up front and two in the rear; the Premium Package adds a head-up display and a digital rear-view mirror.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA estimates 23 mpg combined.

Which 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser trim should I buy?

The 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser is offered in 3 trim levels: 1958, Land Cruiser, and First Edition.

Here's the short version:

• 1958: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Land Cruiser’s core identity at the lowest price. You get the cloth-seat cabin and the base infotainment setup, so it makes sense if you want the nameplate and capability without paying for the extra comfort and tech found higher up.
• Land Cruiser: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the middle-grade cabin treatment, the 10-speaker sound system, and the higher-trim tech and off-road features that make the truck feel more complete. It also unlocks the Premium Package, which adds useful upgrades like a moonroof, ventilated front seats, a head-up display, and a digital rear-view mirror.
• First Edition: This is the most feature-rich version, with real leather, unique trim-specific logos, standard roof rack, front skid plate, mudflaps, and the full safety and convenience package. It makes the most sense if you want the most complete Land Cruiser experience and are willing to pay for it.

The Premium Package is available for the top two trims, while the First Edition gets several of those features standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser?

The market looks selective rather than overheated, so you can shop with patience and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 940 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.79% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 96.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $60,091, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser's resale value?

The current average of $60,091 sits slightly below last year's $63,787.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward from where it was a year ago, which can help future resale if you buy at the right number. If you purchase near the lower end of the current range, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later.

The Land Cruiser’s strong brand appeal and owner satisfaction can help support demand over time, especially among shoppers who value capability and heritage.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser safe?

The 2024 Land Cruiser has not been rated by IIHS or NHTSA.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control, lane-departure alert, lane-tracing assist, automatic high beams, road-sign assist, and Proactive Driving Assist. The Premium Package adds lane-keep assist, front cross-traffic alert, and traffic jam assist to the middle trim, while those features are standard on the First Edition.

A key caveat is that there are no official crash-test results yet, so you should lean more heavily on the standard driver-assistance suite and the vehicle’s overall design when evaluating safety.

Should I buy a 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.79% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It returns the Land Cruiser name to the U.S. with retro styling, modern comfort, and serious off-road hardware.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $62,222, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $60,091 average.
• It is almost unchanged after the 2024 redesign.

The bottom line: If you want the newest Land Cruiser design at a lower average price, the 2024 is the smarter buy. If you’re willing to spend more for a nearly unchanged follow-up, the 2025 is the alternative, but price-sensitive buyers should start with the 2024 and shop for a well-priced example.
