How much does the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser cost?

Prices have softened 5.81% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 961 listings available, which suggests you have a workable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

It stands out as the return of Toyota’s original SUV to the United States, and it arrives as an all-new model for 2024. The Land Cruiser blends retro styling with impressive off-road ability while still aiming to deliver modern comfort and convenience features.

The main trade-offs are clear: it has no option for a third row, and it is more expensive than competitors. That makes it a stronger fit if you want a heritage-rich, capability-first SUV rather than a do-everything family hauler.

The market shows 34.1% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Land Cruiser’s appeal is built around durability-minded capability, and the expert review reinforces that with its emphasis on robust off-road hardware and Toyota’s updated hybrid powertrain. The review also notes that the vehicle is designed to feel both heritage-rich and modern, which matters if you want a truck-like SUV that still feels current.

Its hybrid setup uses a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, an electric motor, and a battery pack, and the expert review describes the powertrain as well suited to the vehicle’s mission. Toyota also includes a broad set of standard driver-assistance features, which can help reduce day-to-day ownership stress.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is paying a premium for a focused SUV that may not match your needs if you want maximum passenger flexibility.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the truck’s off-road hardware, electronics, and interior features all work as expected. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important if the vehicle has seen trail use, since capability-focused SUVs can hide wear that does not show up in photos.

Focus on condition, trim content, and whether the equipment you want is actually present on the specific listing. That matters here because the Land Cruiser’s trims differ meaningfully in comfort, tech, and off-road gear.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base 1958 trim uses cloth seats and the simpler 8-inch infotainment setup, while the middle trim upgrades to SofTex seating and a larger 10-speaker audio system. The top trim adds real leather, unique trim-specific logos, and extra standard off-road gear like a roof rack, front skid plate, and mudflaps.
• Powertrain: The Land Cruiser uses Toyota’s i-Force MAX hybrid powertrain with a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a 1.87-kWh battery pack, and a 48-hp electric motor. It makes 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque, with an eight-speed automatic and standard full-time 4WD.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control, lane-departure alert, lane-tracing assist, automatic high beams, road-sign assist, and Proactive Driving Assist. The Premium Package adds lane-keep assist, front cross-traffic alert, and traffic jam assist to the middle trim; those features are standard on the First Edition.
• Infotainment: The base setup uses an 8-inch center display and a six-speaker sound system. Higher trims get a 12.3-inch center touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and two USB-C ports up front plus two in back; the Premium Package can add a head-up display and a digital rear-view mirror.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA estimates 23 mpg combined.

Which 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser trim should I buy?

The 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser is offered in 3 trim levels: 1958, Land Cruiser, First Edition.

Here's the short version:

• 1958: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Land Cruiser’s core hybrid powertrain, standard 4WD, and the basic cabin and infotainment setup. It makes sense if you want the nameplate and capability at the lowest price, but it leaves out some of the nicer comfort and tech upgrades found higher up.
• Land Cruiser: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds more comfort and convenience without jumping all the way to the top model. You get the middle-grade interior treatment, the larger infotainment setup, and access to the Premium Package, which adds useful upgrades like a moonroof, ventilated front seats, a head-up display, and a digital rear-view mirror.
• First Edition: This is the most feature-rich version, with real leather, unique trim-specific logos, standard roof rack/front skid plate/mudflaps, and the most complete safety and off-road equipment set. It makes the most sense if you want the most fully equipped Land Cruiser and are willing to pay for it.

The Premium Package adds lane-keep assist, front cross-traffic alert, and traffic jam assist to the middle trim, while those features are standard on the First Edition.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find opportunities.

• Deal availability: 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 961 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.81% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 96.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $59,980, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser's resale value?

The current average of $59,980 sits slightly below last year's $63,679.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled enough to help you buy more selectively today. If you purchase well and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later.

The Land Cruiser’s brand appeal and capability-focused identity should help support demand among shoppers who want a rugged Toyota SUV. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser safe?

The 2024 Land Cruiser has not been rated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control, lane-departure alert, lane-tracing assist, automatic high beams, road-sign assist, and Proactive Driving Assist. The Premium Package adds lane-keep assist, front cross-traffic alert, and traffic jam assist to the middle trim, while those features are standard on the First Edition.

A key caveat is that there are no official crash-test results yet, so you should lean more heavily on the standard safety equipment and the vehicle’s overall design when evaluating it.

Should I buy a 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.81% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings back the Land Cruiser name with an all-new hybrid powertrain and strong off-road focus.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $62,158, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $59,980 average.
• It is almost unchanged after the redesign.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2024 is the smarter buy because pricing has eased and inventory is available. If you want the newest version and are comfortable paying more for a nearly unchanged update, the 2025 is the secondary path.
