CarGurus Analysis: 2024 Tesla Model 3
Summary
With 1,766 currently listed for sale and an average price of $36,477, 26.0% of 2024 Tesla Model 3 listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2024 Tesla Model 3 4.75 / 5 stars.
80.5% of 2024 Tesla Model 3 listings on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2024 Tesla Model 3 stands out for its software-driven character and the way Tesla keeps refining the car through over-the-air updates rather than traditional model-year changes. That approach helps explain why the Model 3 has remained a distinctive choice in the EV market: it is built around technology, with constant improvements to autonomy, navigation, user interface, battery optimization, and feature unlocks. For buyers, that means the car’s appeal is tied not just to its hardware, but to the way Tesla continues to evolve the experience after purchase.
For 2024, the Model 3 is part of the period when Tesla was rolling out Autopilot HW4 and making ongoing OTA improvements. The car also benefits from the brand’s emphasis on range and performance, which are central strengths of the Model S family in the source material and help frame Tesla’s broader appeal. At the same time, the Model 3 inherits one of Tesla’s clearest drawbacks: Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not available. That omission may matter to shoppers who want familiar smartphone integration, but for buyers drawn to Tesla’s tech-forward approach, the 2024 Model 3 remains distinctive for its modern, updateable feel.

I wanted to give it 5 stars, but they took a lot of features out that I really appreciated… For example, in my 2018 model 3 I had premium Wi-Fi that was included as well as Home link… now you have to pay a subscription for these and they took out enhanced auto pilot… Now you have to pay for these features as well. I do, however, appreciate a lot of the upgrades, such as the cool seating, the automatic trunk close, the rear seat screen for passengers, and The upgraded windows that cancel outside noise much better

my model 3 is the best car Ive ever owned, especially considering the price. Ive paid a lot more for a lot less. Its a truly remarkable piece of technology. FSD is mind blowing and surprisingly in total control. Interior is minimal but highly advanced. Of course, range can be an issue on road trips if its your only family vehicle. I get about 205 real range miles of the 259 miles shown at 100%. For a daily drive vehicle in town though, I highly recommend. 5 stars

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The 2024 Model 3’s reliability story is tied to Tesla’s software-first approach, with continual over-the-air improvements shaping the ownership experience over time. That can be a plus if you want a car that keeps getting better, but it also means you should pay close attention to how the specific used example has been maintained and updated.
For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is ending up with a car whose condition or software history doesn’t match the promise of its tech-forward design.
What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Tesla Model 3?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 81% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still prioritize a full inspection and confirm that the car’s condition matches its advertised history, especially on a tech-heavy EV where software and hardware both matter. Focus on the cabin, charging behavior, and overall wear, and make sure the vehicle history report lines up with the seller’s claims before you commit.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Tesla Model 3?
This is a seller’s market, so you should act selectively and be ready to move quickly when a strong listing appears.
- Deal availability: 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,754 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices are up 3.22% year-over-year.
- Clean inventory: 81.0% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $34,323, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2024 Tesla Model 3's resale value?
The current average of $36,471 sits slightly above last year's $35,333.
That upward move suggests the market is still willing to pay for this model year, which is a positive sign if you plan to sell later. The combination of steady demand and a tech-forward identity can help support pricing, especially if the car is in strong condition and has a clean history.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2024 Tesla Model 3 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2024 if:
- 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 81% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices are up 3.22% year-over-year.
- Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: The 2024 Model 3 makes the most sense if you want the newer, software-driven version of Tesla’s compact EV formula and you value ongoing updates as part of ownership. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may give you a lower entry point, but the 2024 is the better fit when you want the latest feel and are willing to pay for it.
