For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the concept and more about finding one that has been cared for properly, since condition will matter more than the model’s basic formula.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Subaru Impreza?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any car you’re considering, even if the listing looks clean. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can confirm the condition of the drivetrain, electronics, and interior wear. Focus on how the car was used and maintained, because that will tell you more than the odometer alone.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Base model comes with two 7-inch displays, while the Sport and RS trims get the larger 11.6-inch infotainment touchscreen. The RS also adds side skirts and red interior accents, so it is the trim that most clearly changes the look and feel.
• Powertrain: The Base and Sport trims use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 152 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque, while the RS upgrades to a 2.5-liter engine with 182 hp and 178 lb-ft of torque. Both powertrains use a CVT, AWD is standard, and a manual transmission is not available.
• Safety package: All Imprezas come with the EyeSight driver assist suite, including frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, and lane-centering. The Sport adds Starlink communications features, and the RS adds blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, and automatic emergency steering.
• Infotainment: Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included on all trims, with wireless connectivity on the Sport and RS. The larger 11.6-inch touchscreen is standard on the Sport and RS, and Starlink with a Wi-Fi hotspot is also included there.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.0-liter base engine is estimated to return 27 mpg city, 34 mpg highway, and 30 mpg combined. The RS is rated only 1 mpg less across the board.

Which 2024 Subaru Impreza trim should I buy?

The 2024 Subaru Impreza is offered in 3 trim levels: Base, Sport, RS.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the entry point if you want the lowest-cost way into standard AWD and the Impreza’s core practicality. It gets the smaller dual 7-inch displays, so it makes the most sense if you care more about value and capability than cabin flash.
• Sport: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the larger 11.6-inch touchscreen, wireless phone integration, sportier handling, and more convenience and tech features. If you want the sweet spot between price and equipment, this is the one to focus on.
• RS: This is the trim to choose if you want the most power and the most complete feature set. It adds the 2.5-liter engine, red interior accents, and the extra safety equipment, making it the most appealing choice if you want the most engaging version.

The Sport and RS trims also bring additional safety and connectivity features, while the Base keeps the lineup affordable.

• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.98% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
