How much does the 2024 Subaru Forester cost?

Prices have softened 7.52% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,378 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and trims.

Is the 2024 Subaru Forester a good car?

Yes — 5/5. The 2024 Subaru Forester stands out as a compact SUV that leans hard into practicality, visibility, and all-weather confidence. It also offers a spacious interior and a large cargo area, which makes it especially attractive to you if you want an easy-to-live-with family vehicle rather than something flashy. Standard all-wheel drive and a value-focused setup make it a strong fit for everyday use.

With 36.1% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market still gives you room to find a competitive example.

Is the 2024 Subaru Forester reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Subaru Forester’s reputation for reliability and value remains a major part of its appeal. Subaru’s symmetrical all-wheel drive is standard, and the model’s practical, durable character is a big reason many shoppers keep it on their shortlist. For used buyers, that usually points to manageable long-term ownership risk if you choose a well-kept example.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Subaru Forester?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and confirm the car’s maintenance record before you buy. Put inspection priority on the CVT’s behavior, tire wear, brake condition, and any signs of uneven use or cosmetic neglect. Because this model is valued for practicality and durability, condition matters a lot when you’re comparing similar listings.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Subaru Forester?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the best-priced examples.

• Deal availability: 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,378 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.52% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $28,857, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Subaru Forester's resale value?

The current average of $28,857 sits slightly below last year's $31,203.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, the current softness means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. A clean, well-documented Forester should still appeal to practical shoppers who value standard all-wheel drive and everyday usability.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Subaru Forester or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.52% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $26,950, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $28,857 average.
• It keeps the same practical, all-weather focus with standard AWD and a roomy cabin.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $31,394, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $28,857 average.
• It adds a quieter cabin and more advanced tech.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the best all-around choice if you want a balanced mix of price, inventory, and strong satisfaction. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2023 is the smarter value play; if you want a newer-feeling cabin and can spend more, the 2025 is worth a look.
