How much does the 2024 Subaru Forester cost?

Prices have softened 7.08% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,461 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2024 Subaru Forester a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Subaru Forester earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. It fits especially well if you want a practical compact SUV with standard all-wheel drive, strong visibility, a spacious interior, and a large cargo area. Its appeal is rooted in everyday usefulness rather than flash, and that makes it a smart match for buyers who value easy living and all-weather confidence. The market also shows 33.4% good or great deals, which gives you room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Subaru Forester reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Forester’s reputation for reliability and value is a major part of its appeal, and its standard all-wheel drive and practical design reinforce that image. It also brings a straightforward setup that prioritizes durability-minded everyday use over complexity. For used buyers, that usually means lower ownership anxiety if you choose a well-kept example.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Subaru Forester?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and confirm the vehicle’s maintenance record before you buy. Put inspection priority on the CVT, tire wear, brakes, and any signs of uneven use or prior bodywork. Focus on overall condition and how the SUV has been used, since a practical family vehicle can vary a lot from one listing to the next.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Subaru Forester?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,461 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.08% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $28,676, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Subaru Forester's resale value?

The current average of $28,676 sits slightly below last year's $30,861.

That price movement suggests the Forester has become a bit more buyer-friendly in the near term, which can help you if you’re shopping now. For a future seller, the softer market means you may not see the same pricing strength that was available a year ago. Even so, the model’s practical reputation and broad appeal can help support demand when it’s time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Subaru Forester or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $26,716, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $28,676 average.
• It emphasizes practicality, standard all-wheel drive, and roomy everyday usability.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $31,063, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $28,676 average.
• It adds more advanced tech and a quieter cabin.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, inventory, and buyer confidence, the 2024 is the primary pick. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2023 is the better value path, while the 2025 makes sense if you want to spend more for newer equipment.
