The 2024 RAM 3500 is described as a truck that combines serious capability with upgraded materials, a revised instrument cluster, and a long list of modern tech features. It also benefits from a stronger frame, new suspension, and a new transmission for the Hemi models, which supports its work-focused mission. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a truck built for heavy-duty use may have seen demanding service, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 RAM 3500?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report to confirm accident status and look for signs of hard use, especially if the truck was used for towing or hauling. Put inspection priority on the frame, suspension, brakes, tires, and any equipment tied to heavy-duty work. You should also focus on overall condition inside and out, since this model can be used as both a work truck and a daily driver.

• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.94% compared with last year.

The current average of $58,403 sits slightly below last year's $63,442.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favorable for buyers, which can make future resale a little more competitive if you buy at the wrong price. If you shop carefully and avoid overpaying, you give yourself a better chance of preserving value later. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 RAM 3500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.94% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of capability, comfort, and modern equipment, the 2024 is the one to target first. If your priority is stretching your budget, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2024 still looks appealing when you want a heavy-duty truck that feels more refined than purely utilitarian.
