Is the 2024 RAM 2500 a good car?

Generally — the 2024 RAM 2500 earns a 4/5 user rating, which points to strong shopper satisfaction. Drivers commonly praise its powerful performance, extensive features, and value for money, and the truck’s appeal is especially clear if you want heavy-duty capability with a more upscale cabin and broad configuration choices. The user feedback also points to a truck that feels dependable and trouble-free for many owners, with praise centered on its strong performance and practical value. That said, some shoppers mention concerns about vehicle damage and pricing, so you should still approach used examples with a careful eye. For long-term ownership, the main risk is buying a hard-used truck without enough documentation or inspection history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 RAM 2500?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report to confirm accident status, title status, and service records before you get too far into the process. Then prioritize a thorough inspection of the truck’s condition, especially signs of heavy use, wear, or damage that could affect long-term ownership. Because this is a heavy-duty pickup, you’ll want to focus on how well it was maintained rather than just how it looks.

Even so, the pricing remains relatively stable rather than sharply volatile, which is a good sign for future resale planning. Trucks with strong owner satisfaction tend to hold attention from shoppers, and that can help support demand when you decide to sell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.67% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $47,626, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $47,314 average.
• It emphasizes off-road capability and a more rugged Rebel/Power Wagon focus.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $56,205, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $47,314 average.
• It adds more luxury and refinement with stronger torque.

The 2024 is the best primary path if you want a balanced mix of capability, comfort, and current-market value. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2024 still looks like the sweet spot, while the 2023 makes sense only if you specifically want its off-road-oriented character.
