CarGurus Analysis: 2024 RAM 1500
Summary
With 9,749 currently listed for sale and an average price of $37,160, 35.2% of 2024 RAM 1500 listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2024 RAM 1500 5 / 5 stars.

Why it stands out
The 2024 RAM 1500 stands out for blending full-size pickup capability with a notably refined driving experience. Ram’s redesign gave the truck an updated frame, mild hybrid technology, and a plush interior with the brand’s latest infotainment and driver-assistance technology. It also kept the focus on comfort and space, which helps explain why the Ram 1500 has long been known for its smooth ride and roomy cabin.
For 2024, the lineup is broad enough to suit both work-truck buyers and shoppers looking for more upscale touches. The truck is offered in Tradesman, Big Horn, Rebel, Limited Longhorn, and Limited trims, with rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, a long or short bed, and regular, Crew Cab, or Quad Cab body styles. Buyers can choose from a diesel, a V6, or two different Hemi V8 engines, and some versions include a mild-hybrid system. Available equipment such as a 12-inch touchscreen, a 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, and advanced driver aids adds to its appeal, while the Ram 1500’s strong safety recognition from 2019 to 2023 reinforces its upscale, well-rounded character.
There are tradeoffs, though. The Ram 1500’s tow ratings tend to lag the competition, and advanced driver aids are only offered on higher trims. Some owners also say the fuel economy can fall short of expectations in real-world driving. Even so, the 2024 RAM 1500 remains distinctive because it combines truck utility with a more polished, comfortable feel than many buyers expect from a full-size pickup.

Great value for the price, roughly 7k below average price for this model truck, under 50k miles. I was hoping for LED headlamps, and the tires are a little worn, but the truck is in great condition, like new. Interior is fantastic. All leather, stereo is amazing.

How much does the 2024 RAM 1500 cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $37,195 |
| Year-Round Low | $34,874 |
| Year-Round High | $38,930 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $38,916 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −4.42% |
Prices have softened 4.42% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 12,837 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2024 RAM 1500 a good car?
Yes — the 2024 RAM 1500 earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its spacious interior and comfortable ride, and many also like its features and performance. For you, that means this truck fits especially well if you want full-size pickup utility with a more refined, comfortable feel. With 36.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.
Is the 2024 RAM 1500 reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The user feedback also highlights a dependable ownership experience, with drivers describing the truck as comfortable and well-liked over time. That said, some owners note fuel economy concerns, so long-term ownership risk for used buyers is more about expectations and operating costs than outright satisfaction.
What should I look for when buying a used 2024 RAM 1500?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a pre-purchase inspection that checks for prior damage, uneven wear, and signs of hard use. Because this is a full-size truck, condition matters a lot, so pay close attention to the cabin, bed, suspension, and any equipment that may have seen heavy work or towing.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 RAM 1500?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.
- Deal availability: 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 12,837 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 4.42% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 88.9% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $34,874, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2024 RAM 1500's resale value?
The current average of $37,195 sits slightly below last year's $38,916.
That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now but may temper short-term resale upside. If you plan to sell later, the current softness means your return will depend heavily on mileage, condition, and trim desirability. Strongly maintained examples should still hold appeal because shoppers continue to value this truck’s comfort and refinement.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2024 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2024 if:
- 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 4.42% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $35,519, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $37,195 average.
- It offers a polished ride and upscale cabin feel.
Consider the 2025 if:
- At $42,660, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $37,195 average.
- It adds more tech and stronger powertrain options.
The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, satisfaction, and current-market availability, the 2024 is the primary path to consider. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2023 is the better secondary option because it undercuts the current-year average while still delivering the Ram 1500’s core comfort and refinement.
