Used 2024 Nissan Sentra for Sale nearMcAllen, TX

How much does the 2024 Nissan Sentra cost?

Prices have softened 7.24% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 8,608 listings available, which suggests you should have a healthy number of options to compare.

Is the 2024 Nissan Sentra a good car?

The 2024 Nissan Sentra is a solid fit if you want a value-focused compact sedan with a comfortable ride and updated styling, though it asks you to accept some compromises. It earns a user rating of 3.67/5 and an expert rating of 7.00/10.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Cost effectiveness.

Its strengths are easy to see in the refreshed design, comfortable ride, and strong value proposition, while the compact-sedan mission stays straightforward rather than flashy. The trade-offs are a cramped back seat and outdated technology, and the safety picture is mixed.

The Sentra’s market position is also appealing if you want an honest commuter car without paying for extras you may not need, and 39.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2024 Nissan Sentra reliable?

The 2024 Nissan Sentra is built around a simple formula that should make it easy to live with: a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, front-wheel drive, and a continuously variable transmission that was reengineered for smoother operation and better fuel efficiency.

Nissan also added an engine start-stop system for 2024 to help boost mpg, and the car’s efficiency-focused updates are aimed at improving everyday ownership costs. The Sentra’s warranty coverage includes three years or 36,000 miles of basic coverage and five years or 60,000 miles of powertrain coverage.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the car’s value-oriented setup leaves less room for margin if you want a more refined or feature-rich compact sedan over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Nissan Sentra?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean title and clean accident history matter more when you’re shopping a value-oriented sedan. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the transmission behavior, interior wear, and any signs that the car has been used heavily as a commuter. Pay close attention to trim-specific equipment so you know whether the car has the features you expect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes S, SV, and SR grades, and the base S is the most stripped-down version with 16-inch steel wheels, while the SV adds 16-inch alloy wheels and the SR gets 18-inch wheels plus subtle model-specific styling elements. The base trim also misses some of the nicer cabin touches found higher up, so it’s worth comparing equipment carefully if you want a more polished feel.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 149 horsepower and 146 pound-feet of torque, front-wheel drive, and a CVT. Nissan says the CVT was reengineered for smoother operation and better fuel efficiency, and the 2024 model also adds engine start-stop to further improve mpg.
• Safety package: Standard Nissan Safety Shield 360 includes forward collision warning, front and rear automatic emergency braking with front pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, and automatic high beams. SV and SR models add adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree camera is available with the Premium Package.
• Infotainment: The S gets a 7-inch touchscreen, a 4.2-inch instrument cluster display, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, a single front USB port, and a four-speaker audio system. SV and SR models upgrade to an 8-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch instrument cluster display, a six-speaker audio system, SiriusXM compatibility, a front USB-C port, and a charge-only USB-A port; wireless CarPlay and Android Auto are not offered.
• Fuel efficiency: Sentra S and SV models are rated at 34 mpg combined, 30 mpg city, and 40 mpg highway. SR models are rated at 33 mpg combined, 30 mpg city, and 37 mpg highway.

Which 2024 Nissan Sentra trim should I buy?

The 2024 Nissan Sentra is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SV, and SR.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the value-first choice if you want the lowest entry point and can live with the most basic equipment. It still gives you standard Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and the full Safety Shield 360 suite, but it’s the trim most likely to feel sparse if you care about cabin polish or convenience features.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds a more upscale feel with 16-inch alloy wheels, a larger 8-inch touchscreen, a bigger instrument display, SiriusXM compatibility, and available leather upholstery and a moonroof. It also can be paired with the Premium Package, which adds an eight-speaker Bose audio system and a 360-degree camera.
• SR: Choose this if you want the most distinctive look and the most feature-rich standard setup, including 18-inch wheels and model-specific styling elements. It also gets the larger screens and six-speaker audio, and it can be paired with the Premium Package for even more equipment.

SV and SR models add adaptive cruise control, while the Premium Package on those trims also brings the 360-degree camera system.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Nissan Sentra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 39.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 8,608 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.24% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,218, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Nissan Sentra's resale value?

The current average of $18,218 sits slightly below last year's $19,639.

That price movement suggests the Sentra has softened enough to create a better buying opportunity now than it was a year ago. For a future seller, that means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim, because the market is already pricing in some depreciation. If you buy well today and keep the car clean and well documented, you’ll be in a better position when it’s time to sell.

Is the 2024 Nissan Sentra safe?

The 2024 Nissan Sentra received a Good rating in the IIHS original side-impact crash test, an Acceptable rating in the updated side-impact test, a Basic rating in nighttime front crash prevention, and a Poor headlight rating. It also received five-star ratings in rollover and side crash tests from NHTSA.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes forward collision warning, front and rear automatic emergency braking with front pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, and automatic high beams. SV and SR models add adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree camera is available with the Premium Package.

The mixed crash-test results and poor headlight rating are the main caveats here, so safety-minded used buyers should pay close attention to trim equipment and verify the exact vehicle’s condition and history.

Should I buy a 2024 Nissan Sentra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 39.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.24% compared with last year.
• The refreshed styling and improved fuel economy make this year a stronger pick if you want the latest version of the Sentra’s value-focused formula.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest styling and slightly improved efficiency, the 2024 model is the one to target. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby year may still make sense, but the 2024’s softer pricing and strong inventory make it the cleaner choice for many used buyers.
