Used 2024 Nissan Altima for Sale nearFort Myers, FL

How much does the 2024 Nissan Altima cost?

Prices have softened 8.14% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 9,780 listings available, which suggests you should have a healthy number of options to compare.

Is the 2024 Nissan Altima a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Nissan Altima earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

The Altima’s appeal starts with an attractive starting price and an impressive array of standard safety tech, and it also offers available all-wheel drive plus an upgraded touchscreen on higher trims. Those strengths make it a practical choice if you want a traditional sedan that stays easy to live with.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is pedestrian, material quality is unimpressive, and the Bose stereo is lacking. Even so, the car’s comfortable cabin and easy-to-use technology help it fit well as an everyday family sedan.

38.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Nissan Altima reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Altima is presented as a stable, familiar sedan that has remained largely unchanged for years, which can be a plus if you want a proven formula rather than a fresh redesign. Its well-rounded value proposition and standard safety equipment also support the case for dependable day-to-day use.

The powertrain is described as adequate rather than exciting, but it is straightforward, and the available all-wheel-drive setup adds confidence in poor weather. The cost-effectiveness notes also point to a three-year, 36,000-mile limited warranty and a five-year limited powertrain warranty.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the car’s modest performance and average interior materials may age less gracefully than its core mechanical simplicity.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Nissan Altima?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-trim car with more equipment. Focus on cabin condition, electronics, and how the car drives at low speeds and on the highway, since comfort and usability are major parts of the Altima’s appeal.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes S, SV, SR, and SL. The base S is the simplest version, while higher trims add features such as all-wheel drive availability, a larger touchscreen, and more upscale equipment.
• Powertrain: Most versions use a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 182 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque. The SR can also be ordered with a more powerful 2.0-liter VC-Turbo engine, and AWD is not available with that engine.
• Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear automatic braking, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning. ProPilot Assist can be added to SV trims and comes standard on SL and SR VC-Turbo models.
• Infotainment: Most Altimas come with an 8-inch touchscreen, while the base S uses a 7-inch screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available only with the largest 12.3-inch display.
• Fuel efficiency: The AWD setup is rated at 26 mpg city, 36 highway, 30 combined. The VC-Turbo with FWD returns 25 mpg city, 34 highway, 29 combined.

Which 2024 Nissan Altima trim should I buy?

The 2024 Nissan Altima is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SV, SR, and SL.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, and it makes the Altima’s value case most clearly. You give up the larger screen and some convenience features, but you still get the core sedan formula at the lowest price.
• SV: This is the trim that broadens the Altima’s appeal the most, since it can add all-wheel drive and can be equipped with ProPilot Assist. It’s the best-value choice for many shoppers who want more capability without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• SR: This trim adds a sportier flavor and is the only one that can be ordered with the more powerful VC-Turbo engine. If you want the strongest acceleration in the lineup, this is the one to target.
• SL: This is the most feature-rich mainstream trim, with the 12.3-inch display, NissanConnect, ProPilot Assist, and extra safety tech. It makes sense if you want the most polished Altima experience.

ProPilot Assist is available on SV trims and standard on SL and SR VC-Turbo models.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Nissan Altima?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 38.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,780 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.14% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,779, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Nissan Altima's resale value?

The current average of $19,852 sits slightly below last year's $21,612.

That decline suggests the market has softened, which can help you as a buyer but may pressure resale returns if you plan to sell soon. If you buy at a strong price today, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger hit later.

The Altima’s value-oriented positioning should help it remain appealing to shoppers who want a straightforward sedan. Strong demand for affordable, comfortable transportation can support resale, especially when the car is well maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Nissan Altima safe?

The 2024 Altima earns five-star overall ratings from NHTSA, though it also scores four-star ratings in the overall frontal crash test and driver-side barrier crash test.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard, and it includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear automatic braking, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning. ProPilot Assist is available on SV trims and standard on SL and SR VC-Turbo models, while the SL and SR VC-Turbo also add a 360-degree surround-view monitor and traffic-sign recognition.

The Altima’s updated IIHS side-impact performance is a concern, since the 2024 model has not earned the Top Safety Pick+ designation that the 2022 model received.

Should I buy a 2024 Nissan Altima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 stands out for its attractive starting price and standard safety tech.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $20,683, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $19,852 average.
• It emphasizes comfort, easy-to-use tech, and strong fuel economy.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $20,962, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $19,852 average.
• It adds the SV Special Edition Package to help refresh the lineup.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the best starting point if you want the strongest mix of price, safety tech, and familiar sedan practicality. If you’re shopping on a tighter budget, the 2023 can still make sense, but the 2024’s softer pricing makes it the more compelling buy for most shoppers.
