How much does the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class cost?

Prices have softened 6.08% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 929 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class a good car?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class earns an 8.33/10 expert rating.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Technology.

It is especially appealing if you value refinement over flash, with an elegant cabin, strong technology, and a soothing driving character. The redesign leans into understated styling that should age well, and the standard all-wheel drive and mild-hybrid setup help give it a modern, well-rounded feel.

The main trade-offs are its high price and poor fuel economy, along with minor driving-assistance irritations. Even so, it remains a compelling choice if you want a polished midsize luxury sedan that feels substantial rather than flashy.

Only 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is somewhat selective rather than deeply discounted.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class reliable?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is presented as a refined, sophisticated sedan with a strong emphasis on comfort and technology, which supports a generally reassuring ownership experience. Its mild-hybrid drivetrains and standard all-wheel drive add to the sense that it is engineered to be modern and well-rounded.

The performance setup is described as smooth and capable, with the E 350 offering plenty of power for most people and the E-Class handling curves, bumps, and daily driving with composure. The technology package is also polished and intuitive, which matters for long-term satisfaction because a car like this is meant to feel easy to live with.

The ownership picture is helped by the fact that the car’s systems are designed to reduce stress in everyday use, though the driving-assistance tech can be a little irritating at times. For used buyers, the biggest long-term risk is paying luxury-car money for a vehicle whose upkeep and fuel costs can stay elevated over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report on any car you’re considering and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a luxury sedan with a lot of technology and available driver-assistance equipment. Focus on overall condition, option-package content, and whether the car’s features work as intended, since the E-Class can be heavily equipped.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The E-Class comes in E 350 4Matic and E 450 4Matic sedan models. The E 350 4Matic is the more accessible choice, while the E 450 4Matic adds more power and is the better fit if you want stronger acceleration and a more effortless feel.
• Powertrain: The E 350 4Matic uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, while the E 450 4Matic uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder with 375 hp and 369 lb-ft. Both use a nine-speed automatic, standard 4Matic all-wheel drive, and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system.
• Safety package: The Driver Assistance Package adds 15 technologies, including upgraded Pre-Safe features, Active Emergency Stop Assist, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping, lane-centering, lane-change systems, Automatic Lane Change, Active Speed Limit Assist, and Route-based Speed Adaptation. Some of these systems can be turned off if you prefer a less intrusive setup.
• Infotainment: Standard equipment includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument display and a 14.4-inch infotainment touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, along with a navigation system, Wi-Fi hotspot access, and augmented video technology.
• Fuel efficiency: The E 350 is officially rated at 27 mpg in combined driving, though the test vehicle returned 23.8 mpg.

Which 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is offered in 2 trim levels: E 350 4Matic and E 450 4Matic.

Here's the short version:

• E 350 4Matic: This is the best-value choice if you want the core E-Class experience with standard all-wheel drive, the mild-hybrid setup, and plenty of power for most driving. It delivers the luxury, technology, and comfort that define the car without pushing you into the pricier engine upgrade.
• E 450 4Matic: Choose this if you want the stronger 3.0-liter inline-six and quicker acceleration. It suits you best if you care more about effortless performance than keeping the purchase as restrained as possible.

The Driver Assistance Package is optional, so if advanced safety tech matters to you, make sure the specific car you’re shopping has it.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

The market looks moderately favorable if you’re a selective buyer.

• Deal availability: 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 929 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.08% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $54,312, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class's resale value?

The current average of $54,312 sits slightly below last year's $57,826.

That price movement suggests the market has eased enough to give you a better entry point than a year ago. If you buy well now, you may be starting from a more favorable basis than recent shoppers did.

For a future seller, the softer pricing means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment. A well-kept, well-optioned example should hold up better than a stripped or heavily used one, but the current trend still points to a market that is more buyer-friendly than seller-friendly.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class safe?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2024 E-Class includes numerous safety features, but if you want the full suite of advanced driver assistance systems, you’ll need the Driver Assistance Package. That package adds upgraded Pre-Safe pre-collision features, Active Emergency Stop Assist, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping, lane-centering, lane-change systems, Automatic Lane Change, Active Speed Limit Assist, and Route-based Speed Adaptation.

The system works well overall, though the lane-centering can feel a little unsure at times, and the speed-assist functions can be intrusive in real-world traffic. If you want the most complete safety setup, make sure the car you’re considering has the package installed.

Should I buy a 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.08% compared with last year.
• It appeals to you as a redesigned, tech-forward luxury sedan with understated styling, a high-end cabin, mild-hybrid engines, and standard all-wheel drive.

The bottom line: If you want the newest redesign with the strongest blend of technology, refinement, and standard equipment, the 2024 is the right path to focus on. If you’re more price-sensitive, you may want to shop carefully and compare listings closely, since the market is already giving you some leverage on this model year.
